Meet the Author

I was born in Rector, Arkansas. My parents were sharecroppers. Which is to say, we existed. Later, we moved to the city as my folks looked for a better opportunity. Largely because of the influence of a second grade teacher who encouraged my reading, I became an avid book reader.
In 1963, totally bored with the educational system in my school, I dropped out of high school. When I turned 17 in December of that year, I joined the Marine Corps, a move that I credit with laying the foundation for the rest of my life.
A four year enlistment included a year's "all expenses paid vacation" in the Republic of South Vietnam.
After returning to civilian life, I worked for nine months as an Industrial Engineering Clerk, then spent the next 34 years as a supervisor in the Trucking Industry.
The invention of the E-book gave me the confidence to ignore the fact that I was already in my sixties, and to go ahead and follow thru with a long held desire to try and write a novel.
It has been a great learning experience, and a lot of fun.

Very unusual style of writing a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, even though I thought the main character was "ungrateful" when she was given refuge. This was a "loan me" book and my daughter-in-law sent it to me knowing that I would love it. I have another book from this author and am anxious to get it started.

Great book. Couldn't put it down. Very unusual way of writing a story. Never read anything like it. A great yarn about early life in our great country with all of the trials and tribulations some of our ancestors endured! I'd highly recommend this book. Look forward to more from this author.
