Overview

Read the hilarious, candid (and sometimes not-so-nice), diaries of Jamie Kelly. Now Jamie's first four diaries are together in one side-splitting set!

Dear Dumb Diary,

Here's the thing about Angeline. I know that she shouldn't really bother me that much. I mean, Angeline has even done nice things for me in the past, although I have come to believe that these were probably accidental.

There's just something so infuriating about perfect people. When she's nice, it makes me mad. When she's pretty, it makes me mad. It never changes. I guess the only good thing about Angeline is that she can never bother me more than she does right now. Perfect people make me perfectly ill.

This series is about a young girl who enjoys bullying other children. Throughout the books and the journal that your daughter can purchase, the author encourages bullying, hurtful comments, and excluding other children who are "different" than the main character. The "journal" asks questions such as "are you pretty enough to burn down SeaWorld?" and "which of your friends would color their contact lenses with a marker?" The journal also encourages kids to list unpopular kids in the school, and then provides a list of cruel adjectives to describe these children. Any adult who allows these books to be purchased needs to have their parenting skills questioned. The author of this series should be ashamed of himself.

the girl in this series of books is NOT what I want as a role model for my daughter. She is nasty with severely low self esteem. I just cant imagine my child talking or thinking this way. I will NEVER allow her to read another one of these books again!

I always loved this series! I've read it maybe 10 times now, and it never gets old. it gives really good messages that can be very helpful for anyone. I would recommend this to ANYONE; even if you feel too old for it, it has humor for all ages, even if the reading is easy.
