Meet the Author

Jean Webster (1876-1916) was an American writer and author of many books including Daddy-Long-Legs and Dear Enemy. Her best-known books feature lively and likeable young female protagonists who come of age intellectually, morally, and socially, but with enough humor, snappy dialogue, and gently biting social commentary to make her books palatable and enjoyable to contemporary readers.

That's how I'd describe this book.It deals with serious subjects lightly and with humor.Even if it was written many years ago it applies perfectly to our time!Personally,it's my favourite book and I'd advise everyone to read it.

You can tell the first part of the description was written 100 years ago by an anglo publisher. Everyone nowdays has the sense not to call Scotts after bottles of whiskey.

This book was exactly like Daddy Long Legs, with some new characters and a new setting, sort of. The plot was the same. The story was ok, not horrible, not wonderful. Definately predictable.
