Overview

Sara is obsessed with rock star Tyler Vincent, and as she works to complete her senior year, she's determined to find a way to meet him-although her best friend, Aimee, keeps telling her to find a different escape from her desperately violent home life.

Complications arise when Dale, the mysterious new transfer student, sets his sights on Sara, and she falls for this rock-star-in-the-making in spite of her better judgment. When Sara wins a contest, she is faced with a choice-travel to Tyler Vincent's home town to meet him, or stay and support Dale in a Battle-of-the-Bands hosted by MTV.

Their triangulated relationship is pushed to its breaking point, but there is another, deeper secret that Dale's been keeping that just may break things wide open...

Turn up your collar, feather your hair, and splash on some Polo, because we're going back to the '80's when MTV played music videos, there was no such thing as American Idol, and becoming a star meant doing nothing short of crazy for that one, big break.

Meet the Author

Emme Rollins is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author of New Adult/Mature Young Adult fiction. She's been writing since she could hold a crayon and still chews her pen caps to a mangled plastic mess. She did not, however, eat paste as a kid.

She has two degrees, a bachelor's and a master's, one of which she's still paying for, but neither of which she uses out in the "real world," because when she isn't writing, she spends her time growing an organic garden to feed her husband and children (and far too many rabbits and deer!) where they live on twenty gorgeous forested acres in rural Michigan.

She loves tending her beehives (bees are wonderful pollinators and Hello!? Honey!) and keeping up with her daily yoga practice and going for long walks in the woods with her boxer, Rodeo, who loves chasing squirrels almost as much as Emme loves writing!

Emme loves hearing from fans, so feel free to use the contact page to connect with her.

    Good read

Ok. This book was good. But I seriously got sick of Sara's obsession with Vincent! It became annoying really fast!

    Good story!

I really enjoyed this book! It was kind of predictable but even then I got sucked in into the story and fell in love with the characters. It's a fast read! Perfect for summer! I liked that it touched some dark topics that most young adult books ignore. I won't say more as to not spoil it for you!

New adult rock star romance at its finest! I love the rock stars, and Dale doesn't disappoint! This is a well-crafted story, well-told and well-written and well... just plain freaking AWESOME!  I had a hint what was going to happen, but in the end, when it all came together, it was like getting hit out of nowhere (probably like the characters felt!) and WOW. Just WOW. You have to read this book. You will not be disappointed, I promise you!

I read a lot of new adult, and this book is one of the BEST new adult I've read in a long time! Take the celebrity-damaged girl thing to a whole new level. And Dale Diamond? He's my brand new book boyfriend! *swoon* I am totally in love with him! I want a Dale Diamond! Perfect alpha male without being overbearing or stalker or violent for no reason. WANT! This will be on my re-read list forever and Emme Rollins is my favorite new author!

    Same as another book

I read a book exactly like this a few years ago. It had the same characters, Sara, Dale, and Tyler Vincent, and the same plot line. The book was called Star Struck by Sheri Leigh. I recently noticed that you cant get this book anymore on B&N. It seems a little weird that two books have theexact same characters and plot.

Dear Rockstar by Emme Rollins is a blast from the past. We are so dependent on our smartphones and internet, that it is fun to go back and remember the good ole days. Whether you are 25, 45 or 65, you can remember what it was like to have posters out of magazines covering your walls. Writing actual letters to celebrities just hoping that they’ll send you an autographed photo. Everyone had that one singer they were obsessed with and you can completely put yourself in Sara’s shoes. This story was full of twists and turns that leave you saying “what?!” I loved this book. It just makes you happy thinking about your own teenage years. ~Kendra with For the Love of Books

    An amazing read!

I got the collection with this story in it as the first story and I can understand why. It is such an adult spin on such a cute and loving story. The main characters have such a passion, i can't wait until another book of Rollins comes out.

Oh, heck yeah! Loved this. Good romance, nice HEA. Kept me engaged threw out the story. Dale is a sweetheart, and hot too! So happy the book came to a conclusion, I'm tired of sequels and trilogies. I definitely recommend this book.

This book wasnt a thing like I expected it to be and I loved it!
Sara is finishing up her remaining high school credits in hopes of getting the hell out of dodge and away from an ugly home environment. Her obsession with current rock god Tyler Vincent has her looking to a college close To where he lives in hopes of meeting him... like I said obsessive.

you’re mine. I knew it the first time I saw you. I will always come for you Sara, always.

Dale Diamond is the new gorgeous Tyler Vincent look alike has his visions set on two things... becoming a rock god and Sara. Dodging his own growing groupie fan base Sara and Dale struggle to merge their dreams without losing their growing relationship.

"You aren't one of those salad eating girls...are you?" My mind went to Eddie Murphy Delirious ha!

    Great book

    A great read!
This book is best suited for a someone that loves rock-star bordering on stalker behavior. I loved that it was set in the 80's that alone helps you connect to the characters(for me anyway). If your not too much into music this book will not bore you with music stuff it really is all about the mystery of the new kid at school Dale and Sara the main character.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sara is girl that has created an elaborate fantasy life based on one day becoming part of rock star Tyler Vincent's life. Dale is the gorgeous new transfer to her school that opens her eyes to the real life experiences she is missing out on.

I loved that this story is set in the 80's. The fashion and the music make a good back drop for rock and roll fantasy. Sara's home life is mess, but somehow she has managed to stay grounded with good friends who round out this story. Dale is a very alpha, hot rocker boy, who comes across as very believable and not cliché. At first I was apprehensive about this being set in some sort of a high school setting, but characters are all over 18 (each have various reason for attending an alternative school to complete their GED). I came of age during this decade and all the references took me back to my own good times.

This is a good book for anyone into new adult and rocker boy reads.
