Not what I expected, and therefore very interesting

I decided to fall for this book, as I am a fanatic about poems. so, I thought this was going to be some kind of weird strange Swift fan writing love poems to her, and in the end it was not. This guy, Rush, Chronicled his life in poems(in this book, the other version which I just ordered from lulu, because I had to see what else there is, as this is more than just poetry, this is about the life of this artist through poems, thoughts) anyway, I found that most of the poems were most likely written about people he knew, experiences he went through during the time indicated page to page, day to day, most are stream of thought, but not all, and then there are the poems he wrote about the lost loves of his life, heart breaking. for you Rush, keep writing!

    Wow, what a beautiful Cover

Hi, My name is Rush Whitacre. Yes, I am the man in the picture and I am very proud of this book. For those of you who say you have read the book, thank you and I am glad you took the time to read it and give me some honest feedback. As for the rest of you who are judging a book by its cover this is for you: If you want to understand the cover of this book then you should read the original book which consists of 365 letters and poems that I wrote to Taylor as a way of writing my autobiography. As it says in the book, I vowed to not go looking for information about Taylor, but rather I would continue to let the world reveal things about her as they always have, like subliminal messages because of Fame. So, I really don't know much about Taylor, other than she is a famous singer, she has blonde hair, she dated some guy named Jake, and that she apparently was having a problem choosing a color in my dream. I tell you this only because I have no reason to be rude, and therefore I am NOT trying to be. I chose this cover design out of all the designs presented to me because first, I see it as beautiful/respectful/amazing, and second, this cover best exemplifies what happened to me. The image looks like I could be sleeping, and in my sleep I had a reoccurring dream about Taylor(hence her hair coming out of my head), and at the ends of her hair you can see the result of the dreams. The ends of the hair in this image are actually 6 different poems that I painted one over the other until the affect was that of an all over pattern which just so happened to work with the hair so well that it is hard to tell where the hair begins and the poems end. I actually only used about 30 percent of her hair, the rest of the image would be my artwork making you think it is her hair. This is for Taylor: Keep on doing what you do for you are beautiful, talented, gifted, and you deserve to be treated like a princess. Thanks for your time and God bless. Books I have written this year and are Coming soon: "Metropurgatory", "Mabast", “Dear Christopher Walken”, “Dear Bill Murray”, “Dear John Sabraw”, “Dear Jerry Bruckheimer”, “Dear Emma Watson”, “Dear Stone Cold Steve Austin”, “Dear Dolly Parton”, “Dear Kathy Lee Gifford”, “Dear Lady GaGa”, “Dear Leonard Cohen”, “Dear Mila Jovovich” and “Dear Bill Murray” again (because of ground hogs day, lol)... I toss this review into the void, the abyss between us, this space that keeps conversation from happening.

The next day after reading some of this book I woke with my nook

The next day after reading some of this book I woke with my nook still looking me in the face, I woke up with it on my bed, still turned to a poem titled: "Cape Cod Flats". This guy really has a way with words, and I hope he doesn't mind, but, I want to quote a portion of it as it is dear to my heart: "I walk out on the Mud flats of life, waiting for the sea to wash over me. The tide at Cape Cod goes out three miles and I walk the flats alone with only my thoughts. Occasionally I stop to dig a clam or quahog. There will be chowder tonight with the lobsters. Occasionally a small fish darts in the pools left by the receding waters... it goes on and on, but this portion really reminds me of my grandma so much. Thank you Rush.

I have personally read this book from cover to cover, and althou

I have personally read this book from cover to cover, and although this author may not be a Poe, or a Szymborska, there is certainly nothing in it to suggest that anyone should be offended by it, least not Taylor Swift. Not to mention, look at how beautiful her hair is even on a boys head, pretty flattering if you ask me! anyway, maybe all of you should stop hating on everyone and just start asking questions before making complete fools of yourselves, not to mention, it was because of the negative comments I decided to buy this book to see for myself what all the fuss was about, so, thanks, another enjoyable read.

and did I read that this guy has letters to go with the poems? where can I find that book?

Definitely a one of a kind, enjoyed the rhyme-time poems

Not a master of poems, but determined to be entertaining. I took one look at the cover of this book and thought, hmmm, I had better read the reviews, of which there was only two, both lame, and probably from haters, so, I decided to do my own investigating. for 5 bucks I was entertained for the quality of 10 bucks, so I feel like this was worth it. I just saw that this is the poem version, so, I am looking into the version with all the letters, because I want to know who this guy is. I will look him up on facebook too, is that creepy?

TAYLOR SWIFT ASKS RUSH WHITACRE WHICH COLOR!!!! HA HA, great stuff
Anyway, I just read that in his Letter book autobiographical book thing, and now her album is titled Red,,, and even better is how Taylors says that she chose the color RED because it best exemplified the type of relationships that she sung about in the album RED,, angry, frustrating, intense...
Maybe she should start reading her letters,,, and taking the advice of 'some' of her fans. lol
Like Rush said in his book, "If for some reason you are having a problem choosing a color, pick baby blue."  Maybe this is some mystical sign from the universe that she needs to pick guy who is decent, and who doesn't bring the drama... haha  great stuff
If you want to read more about the above, you have to buy a hardback, or softback version of his "Letters" book, and not his "Poetry" book.  anyway, that is where I found it. cheers

tisk tisk..  anyway, I loved this book, it is exactly what I thought I was buying, poetry just as described by 'bendacrayon', which by the way is a great review for this book
as for my own review, I just wanted to ask the author,, who is the Sara you wrote about in your book, the poem titled; "I will not date you Sara"  I have to know since my name is also Sara...   that girl must have had quite an impact on you.
as for the haters, keep on hating.  and for Rush, keep on loving!

As I'm writing this i would like everyone to know what a talented and genuine guy the author, Rush Whitacre is . I had the opportunity to develop a friendship with him and see some of his beautiful art that he creates. If you want to be entertained and have a treat that you will go back to time and time again, then please read just one of his books!! As i told Rush, lol, the only thing i would have done differently is if he had posed completely nude for the cover.....Well maybe just with a fig leaf :) Rush you are amazing...

This initial review is on Rush as a person, since that is what seems to be the main theme of the other asinine reviews listed. Rush and I grew up in the same town, and I have known him for over 25 years. I can assure you that he is an extremely kind, intelligent, and well spoken individual. He is in no way being rude or offensive to anyone, least of all Taylor Swift, (or her hair). If you can't even read or write the English language using correct spelling and grammar, you are hardly qualified to review any literary work, least of all a book of poetry. Just stick with your "Tiger Beat" or "Seventeen" magazine.
RUSH... as a side note, I just bought your book on the nook market. I will read it, and then post a review on the poetry therein. I love the cover! It is a pleasure to know you friend. Please give my regards and a nice scratch behind the ears to Sienna.

HE DREAMS THAT TAYLOR SAYS TO HIM "COLOR, WHICH COLOR"
After reading these review I have to ask myself which one Taylor herself wrote... Hmmm, interesting...  It will make all of these 12 year olds curious to know what happened in the Dream that this Author, Rush, speaks about...
In the dream that Rush apparently had in 2010 Taylor comes into view and asks him one question,,, "Color, Which Color"... How ironic that her latest album is titled RED,,, a color... I won't give away the color that Rush tells her she should pick,,, not my place to be giving away that kind of information.  Love the poetry, keep on writing Rush
