Overview

Phryne Fisher is on holiday. She means to take the train to Sydney (where the harbour bridge is being built), go to a few cricket matches, dine with the Chancellor of the university and perhaps go to the Arts Ball with that celebrated young modernist, Chas Nutall. She has the costume of a lifetime and she's not afraid to use it. When she arrives there, however, her maid Dot finds that her extremely respectable married sister Joan has vanished, leaving her small children to the neglectful care of a resentful husband. She rescues the children, but what has become of Joan, who would never leave her babies? Surely she hasnA[a¬a[t run away with a lover, as gossip suggests? Phryne must trawl the nightclubs and bloodtubs of Darlinghurst to find out. And while Phryne is visiting the university, two very pretty young men, Joss and Clarence, ask her to find out who has broken into the Dean's safe and stolen a number of things, including the Dean's wife's garnets and an irreplaceable illuminated book called the Hours of Juana the Mad. An innocent student has been blamed. So there is no rest for the wicked, and Phryne girds up her loins, loads her pearl handled .32 Beretta, and sallies forth to find mayhem, murder, black magic, and perhaps a really good cocktail at the Hotel Australia.

    terrific historical mystery

Phryne Fisher accompanied by her maid Dorothy ¿Dot¿ Williams takes the train to Sydney for a vacation. The wealthy independent woman looks forward to seeing the Harbour Bridge construction and a few cricket matches though the national team seems older this year than usual. She also plans to have some champagne with the University Vice Chancellor Charles Waterhouse and squeeze in some time with renowned young modernist Chas Nutall. However, Dot panics when her sister Joan vanishes without a trace. Although a nasty rumor insists she ran off to party with a man, Dot swears her sibling would never abandon her children especially to be left with her ever angry ironmonger husband. Dot feels a bit better although still worried when Phryne says she will investigate starting by dancing at the nightclubs in the wild Darlinghurst section of town the most likely place Joan would have gone if she did decamp. At about the same time, two university students Jocelyn ¿Joss¿ Hart and Clarence Ottery beg Phryne to learn who broke into the Dean of Arts' safe and stole several articles as an innocent scholarship student Adam Harcourt is being accused. --- DEATH BEFORE WICKET is a terrific entry in one of the best historical mystery series on the market today. Phryne remains a fresh unique heroine as she does what she wants in 1920s Australia. This time besides touring Sydney, she works on both cases in her classy but tough style. Readers will appreciate this humorous thriller as the heroine when she is not watching cricket or picking up men deals with cultists and an oafish spouse. --- Harriet Klausner

I vote a hurricane, tornado, or other storm-related disaster to warn the clans like Rosie said.
Also we NEED a DF and Twolegplace RP. I think interactions between these groups could be interesting, especially if a kittypet joins a clan. It would raise tension and maybe get StarClan more active in the life of the living.

    Seafire, Storm, and Mossfur's vote

I agree with Deercloud. That would be awesome. But, Sandclan is "scouting out the battlefield" so to speak, so if they did have another battle, it would have to be in a while.

    Ж Stormflower's Vote Ж

I vote for thunderstorm, then a mudslide washing part of NorthClan's camp away. Also I think the twolegs should start putting dest<_>roying part of SandClan. The Dark Forest should walk among the living...XD Hope you will consider!
~ Stormflower &#1046

I love how everyone wants RainClan and HorseClan to fight. Guess Pandemonium helped fuel the anger by carrying their scent :D I think the Clans do need a GOOD fight against one another though, even with everything going on at HorseClan. Cats missing, leadership askew. As for the weather, I have another idea. StarClan should send a warning, like a huge storm, warning them about dangers ahead. I foresee a lot of danger in the future (and not just from Pandemonium :D)
~&real &hearts~

SandClan is having troubles with Mistypaw, so idc what happens, but maybe spread out the drama at least for sandclan, not all at once so there wouldn't be any later.

    |The Weather Report|

A light gray tabby shecat pads in and announces, "Here is one of the perks of the pact clans! This is The Weather Report! Every week on Sunday or Monday I plan to post what the weather will be like for the week. Remember a week equals a season for the pact clans so weather will vary greatly each week. But the cool part is that pact clan members are able to cast a vote here about what they think the next week's weather should be like. I encourage you to be as creative as possible. Think about temperature, precipitation, natural disasters, ect. that we can then have effect all pact clans in varying degrees. This feature is here to make this rp realistic and more fun! Once the week is over I will count up the weather votes and pick the one that received the most agreement. I will then proceed to tell everyone here what the weather will be like for the week. Also if a natural disaster is decided on, at some point in the week I will post it at each clan for everyone to react to. This is also where battles will be voted on. Since it is often hard to make battles a reality, we vote on which clans should have them here. A vote must include two or more clans that should battle and a motive for the battle. If a motive is not included then that vote will not be counted. At least five cats from the clans battling must agree that the battle should take place. As with the weather, once the week is over I will count up the votes and post the results in The Weekly Report as well as here. If by Saturday of the next week the battle voted upon has not taken place then I will contact the clans involved to discuss why the battle has not happened. Hopefully with this voting system battles can become more of a regular thing. So make sure to check back here weekly for the weather, battles, and to cast your vote!"
Lilywolf to All! ~ The Weather Report!

Alright everyone, I figured newleaf was just a calm one, which was one of the votes. Now for this greenleaf, I'll do the prey shortages you all suggested! As you probably know, the twolegs are expanding. I think people are right about Ashclan. They've had quite a bit of excitment with the moves and since they are now living behind Northclan territory, it will take a bit for the twolegs to reach them again. But there will be prey shortages in pretty much every other clan along with interesting events! Check out your border for the latest twoleg activity! So now we need to decide on leaffall. The twolegs will still be around for a bit during this time (probably hunting) so if you have any suggestions for what they should be doing, just tell me! We can have thunderstorms, tornados, early snowfall, disease, herb destruction, continued prey shortage, mudslides, floods, ect. Just let me know! Also as far as the battles go, I have given Sandclan and Northclan a few weeks opportunity to fight but it hasn't happened. So we are going to focus on other battles people may want. That doesn't mean Sandclan and Northclan can't battle. It just means I'm not going to post any reminders about the battle at their camps. So now for new battle ideas. I've been thinking of some possibilities. Perhaps Sandclan and Horseclan team up against Rainclan because both have had problems with Mistpaw. Or Ashclan and Northclan battle because Ashclan is now behind Northclan's territory, in probably a less prey rich area. Anyways tell me what you think on both the weather and battles for leaffall! Thanks guys! ~ Lilywolf &hearts
