Death of a President: November 1963 based on 0 ratings. 3 reviews.
I found the book to be very descriptive and realistic about reaction to this shocking incident. The choosing of sides, the lines drawn stating where each persons loyalty lies. He took a world event and made you feel like you were there. I found the following of each persons dealing of grief so interesting. I just felt that too much was made mention of Lee Harvey Oswald. In the mid sixties which this book was written the author is in line with the single shooter theory. Nevertheless a great book.
I ordered this book because of the Vanity Fair article on what Manchester went through to write the book. I would never imagine that a writer would be subjected to such an ordeal in order to present the truth and reality of what led up to the assassination, and honest description of everyone in the President's life at the time.
