    Booklover

This is a fantastic read. It put's you right where Ben, the main character, is so you feel like you yourself went through this journey. You will also not expect the things that will happen in this read. And even through the ending is a little weak it still gets a five.

The novel Deathwatch by Robb White is an extraordinary juv

The novel Deathwatch by Robb White is an extraordinary juvenile mystery. The author uses large amounts of descriptive details, multiple themes, and information in order to accurately portray the seriousness of the events that unfold.
The exposition is made up of a young college student, Ben and a successful businessman, Madec. Ben is hired by this stranger to be his guide in the Mojave Desert in order to find the prized animal, the Bighorn Sheep. While the two were hunting, Madec accidentally kills an old prospector. He then gives Ben two options after he insists on reporting the murder. Either he would be killed on the spot or given the chance to survive in the desert with no clothes or supplies.
Once He decides to take the chance, he immediately finds himself in the disadvantage. It takes two to three days of cut feet, dehydration, sunburn, near death experiences, gun wounds, and malnutrition for Ben to overcome Madec and his rifle. Even though Ben beats Madec in the wild, he soon finds himself battling for his future in the courtroom. Does the truth get Ben freedom or just more trouble?
All in all, this is an extremely exciting piece of literature that never failed to keep me off the edge of my seat. The author does a great job of description and illustrating to help the reader feel as if they are the ones who are being hunted. I highly recommend this novel for anyone who enjoys a good suspense or informative piece.

    Drew's Review

    Book Review Outline
Book title and author: Robb White
    Title of review: Death Watch
Number of stars (1 to 5):

    Introduction
The main idea is that got blamed that Madec did. Make sure you see the animal before you shoot at it. I think this book was very good but not the best. You never know what was going to happen next. It was fun for someone who likes guns.
Description and summary of main points
I would give it a four because it is not the best. Madec accidently killed a man when he was hunting for a mountain goat. Then he tried to kill Ben because he was a witness.
    Evaluation
This book is really good for hunters. I think that because it talks about guns and hunting for animals. It achieves its goal because Madec had to go to jail because he shoot a man because he was rushing with a gun.
    Conclusion
Watch what you are shooting at before who shoot. Madec paid Ben money to lead him to mountain sheep. Madec shot his gun and killed a man. Then he tried to kill Ben because he was a witness. Then Ben got blamed for the murder but they found out that Madec killed him. This is a good book.

    never a dull moment

I base my positive rating of 4 out of 5 on the action and suspense involved in the story and on the well-developed conflict. Robb White always keeps the reader wondering what is going to happen next by using foreshadowing and cliffhangers throughout the book. You can¿t put the book down because you want to find out what will happen Also, Robb White develops the person vs. person conflict by creating two completely opposite characters and this results in a good vs. evil type of theme. Ben represents the ¿good¿ side and Madec is the ¿evil¿ side, and these two characters, and the good and evil forces, are constantly opposing each other. It makes the reader root for Ben and despise Madec. Readers who enjoy survival stories and/or adventure stories would love this book because there is never a dull moment.

    The Heat Rises

Deathwatch is another one of those greatest books ever read, for me.This book gives me the image of someone watching too closely, and that they are waiting for you to die.Even without them actually putting their hands on you. It's all about the watching and the waiting.Deathwatch is suspicious, adventurous, and dangerous. Also,it gives you a taste of surviving in the middle of nowhere:]

Great book but a little 'TOO' descriptive!!

The book was great. It was great when it began, and when it was over. But in the middle of the book, it was too descriptive but it was a great book. Especially when Madec was sniping at Ben on the cliff. I recommend it to people that like a cat and mouse feal.

    Great Book!

I read this book this book for summer readin this summer and i thought it was a great book! It's a little TOO descriptive thought but the action scenes were great and at the end, it was a good kind of frustration. And what i mean by that is you know what is going to happen but everything is going bad and it will eventually get good.

    Deathwatch, from blg

I am a teenager and first ended up reading Deathwatch by Robb White in 8th grade for a battle of the books competition. It did stir my imagination. Ben's survival methods are fascinating. Madec is indeed an evil character who is only out for his own good but you find yourself wanting to know more about him because he is such a powerfully manipulative character and it really makes you wonder how he came to be that way. This story is a combination of the battle between good and evil and survival of the fittest. It is the twisted irony, outstounding endeavers, and one menacing character that makes this book very well done.
