Thomas Jefferson, not a Christian? Then why (from the original 1848 version of: The Lives of the Signers, written by B.J.Lossing) would he distinctly say, upon his deathbed, "I resign myself to my God, and my child to my country"? Also, he signed his documents with "In the year of our Lord". David Barton is not the only historian or author to have spoken very highly of this man's goodly moral character.
