Editorial Reviews

Amy Ramsey
I’m astounded by Keta’s writing versatility (having read and loved “Where the Rain is Made”), and her ability to paint scenes where the reader lives with the characters. Fizzing with mystery and sizzling with sex, there is never a dull moment in her books and “Decadent Deceptions” will not disappoint her fans one bit.
C. Waits - Chloe Watts
Diablo is a master at weaving a tantalizing tale of lust and intrigue and Decadent Deception is no exception to this rule. I just couldn’t put the book down.
Romance Alley - Denise A
Ms. Diablo's writing style is a flowing cascade of emotion and sensuality. I totally enjoyed Decadent Deceptions and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a spicy historical. The author beautifully blended a touch of southern charm and history with a steamy love story.
Moonlight Lace & Mayhem - Grace M
This was a hot, erotic read, with a little bit of spicy voyeurism thrown into the mix. The characters Ms. Diablo created were fun, witty and even zany at times. They were a joy to read and I found myself sad when the novel ended just because I loved the characters.
Two Lips Reviews - Marianne L
Diablo is a master at weaving a tantalizing tale of lust and intrigue and Decadent Deception is no exception to this rule. I just couldn’t put the book down. I was continually left wondering what Olivia was going to do next. She is brash and outspoken and I found her to be a refreshing heroine. The sparks between the two keep you on fire throughout the whole book, and believe me when I tell you the ending is a shocker. Decadent Deceptions is very well done Ms. Diablo.

Olivia and Cain Breedlove, who are brother and sister, are shock

Olivia and Cain Breedlove, who are brother and sister, are shocked when they have their recently deceased Father's will revealed to them. Olivia must marry within 6 months to a respectable man or she will receive none of her inheritance. If she also fails to do this, she is basically at the mercy of her brother's goodwill and he would decide how much money she gets if he chooses so. Her brother tells her that she does not have to worry, he would take care of her and make sure she would be happy. Olivia is strong-willed and doesn't want to have to rely on her brother. She asks her brother's childhood friend Morgan to help her with a solution. She wants to find a man who is sexually right for her even though she is a virgin herself. She enlists his help in attending a brothel and become a watcher of the sexual art. When Olivia was younger, she and Morgan almost had a chance at falling in love, but her father put an end to it and told him he was never to even look at her again. Morgan never stopped loving her, and Olivia thought he didn't care for her at all. Unfortunately, Olivia's plan to win Morgan's love backfires in many ways and women at the brothel start turning up dead.

This was a hot and steamy read that also featured suspense and mystery that is sometimes forgotten about in an erotica. The story was consistent and beautifully written. It didn't come off as just a sex book, but as a romance with some witty humor written also. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I usually don't expect suspense written into an erotica. It surprised me and was believable. Just when you think you have it figured out, the author throws in some surprises you don't see coming. When the story ended, I was sad. Not because of the way it ended, but simply because the story was over. I wanted this book to keep going because I was so wrapped up in the characters.

Simply put, I have found myself a new author. I am really surprised she hasn't been picked up by some big publishing companies. She has the talent and the skills to make it big! She was also a wonderful writer to work with in the review process. I personally can't wait to read her other books now that I have found her. This is one author I will be watching for new release's in the future.

Olivia Breedlove’s father has left her miserable even afte

Olivia Breedlove’s father has left her miserable even after his death. His will states she must wed within six months to an upstanding gentleman or lose her inheritance and rely on her brother’s good graces. Well, her father may get her to marry even from the grave but she will make sure the man she does marry knows what he is doing in the bedroom.

Morgan Gatewood has loved Olivia for years but when they were caught he refused to stand up to her father and fight for what he wanted causing him to lose Olivia’s love. Unable to be around her he leaves the country, now he is back and is ready to go for what he wants, Olivia. But, he does not meet the critereia set by her father's will. When he finds out what she has planned he volunteers to get her entrance into the local brothel, but no man will touch her except him.

As Olivia and Morgan have a battle of wills the soon discover someone is killing the women at the brothel and now the killer is after Olivia. Morgan will do everything to keep her safe and prove to her that he is the man she always believed him to be but will she live to enjoy his love.

Keta Diablo brings a wonderful story of love overcoming obstacles of trust and the past. Olivia and Morgan are quite the pair with their in the face attitudes towards each other, both fighting for what they want when it is the same goal for them both, they want each other but Olivia is to stubborn to admit it. Decadent Deception is for anyone who wants a good historical with the suspense of who the killer is, a real page turner it keeps you wondering all the way to the end.

The problem with MissBreedlove’s daring plan, is that if it goes awry, her reputation will be ruinedand no respectable gentleman will have her, putting her in the worst possibleposition. Morgan Gatewood, for his part, has been wanting to make Olivia hisfor a very long time, and will let nothing stand in his way.

Decadent Deceptions is a thoroughly sensuoushistorical erotic romance. Keta Diablo’s rich backgrounds set off the antics ofher characters to perfection. With all the misunderstandings of a good romanticcomedy and a terrifyingly menacing subplot, the reader will be entrancedthroughout.

I always enjoy Ms. Diablo’s work and this book wasno exception. It made me realize how versatile she is and look forward to hernext release.

    Hot read, historical erotica.

    Review by Jen:
The concept of Decadent Deceptions is quite interesting. I did question some of the accuracy of the historical detail (such as some of the spoken phrases), but it didn't distract from the book. The love scenes were red-hot and explicit, but fit well into the story. I suppose the only thing that really bothered me was that when the book was over I felt kind of short-changed when it came to the actual romance between Morgan and Olivia. More often than not, the love just wasn't believable and it just seemed like their relationship was based on lust.

Overall, I did enjoy the book. And if you're looking for a hot read, a historical erotica, Decadent Deceptions is a great option.

When you drive through your neighborhood and people have their windows open, do you look inside? I don’t mean peeping tom, but more just passing interest as you drive by? How do they have their furniture set up? What are they watching on tv? And just what are they doing??? I do. I have a bit of a voyeur in me, so I was not surprised at all when I loved Decadent Deceptions.

Keta Diablo had it right when she named this book Decadent, because my-oh-my, it surely is. This story takes us back to Georgia in 1856. Olivia Breedlove just discovered that her father’s last will and testament orders her married within six months if she wants to inherit her portion of the estate. But Olivia is no blushing violet, she is a modern thinking woman – and she intends to find a loophole. And boy, does she! And it includes a few visits to the local madame’s to see if she can learn a thing or two - and she enlists the help of her brother, Cain, and her neighbor, Morgan (whom she is secretly in love with, by the way) I thought Olivia was very enigmatic. She’s a young woman, struggling against the confines of the times. But she is also intelligent and a bit audacious, and I really enjoyed reading about her different antics and angsts through the story.

But what good would a historical erotic romance be if there were no secrets? Trust me, this story has more secrets than you could shake a stick at! Whodunit? Who is going to do it? And who wants to do it??

Let’s talk about her neighbor, Morgan. Morgan is a bit of a playboy, he’s very wealthy, a tad manipulative, and positively head over heels for Olivia. And he is just beyond wonderful. Even when I suspected him of something horrible, I found myself rationalizing and finding a way to keep on loving him. At times I thought he was insane, and others I just knew it.

Treachery and debauchery are all around in this story, and it was perfect. Someone is murdering people, and Keta makes sure you suspect everyone – I just love that! And Morgan and his blasted teasing!! This is why it is a good thing I was not around back then, because I don’t think I could have stopped myself from jumping all over that man. There was definitely a lot of events in this story to keep me engaged and entertained.

The characters in this story are very colorful and vivid, and they were so much fun. I really loved every single page. And on top of all that it was hot and steamy, full of delicious teasing, with some extra additions of mystery. I am new to Keta’s writing, but I can absolutely see why she has such a loyal following – now plus one more. This is one of those stories I could see myself reading over and over because it was just so much fun to be along for the ride. If you like erotic historical romance, then this is definitely a book you should check out! You know, a book doesn't get over 25 Five Star Reviews for no reason!

Olivia Breedlove and her brother, Cain, are surprised by their father's will in that he has given Olivia an ultimatum. She must marry a man of reputable character within six months or she will receive no inheritance. In fact, she will be at the mercy of her brother's goodwill. Her brother assures her she need no be concerned for her future welfare as he considers her happiness paramount. Olivia, being strong-minded, decides that she will not be dictated to. She enlists the help of her childhood friend who also happens to be her brother's best friend, Morgan Gatewood. Olivia has been in love with Morgan for years. An unfortunate incident years ago concerning Olivia's virtue caused a rift between Olivia's father and Morgan that led to Morgan leaving the country. Morgan comes back years later still in love with Olivia but respects her father's demand that he steer clear of her. Olivia, being a woman, believes Morgan left her and never gave her a second thought. Olivia decides to avail herself of an opportunity to acquaint herself with the more sordid part of a man's life; that of visiting a brothel in order to force Morgan's hand. As expected, nothing goes as planned because unexplained murders are being committed around Olivia, and it appears she may be next.

I read this story not necessarily expecting a mixture of suspense and mystery. I was pleasantly surprised at what the author had in store. The relationship between the main characters was not only believable but riveting. I liked that the author wrote the scenes from several points of view so the reader is not left to their own conclusion vis a vis others' perceptions. The twists and turns of the plot keep you guessing. A couple of times I thought I had it figured out only to find out I was wrong. The author writes a delightful love story of long-denied love that culminates in an mixture of mystery and devotion rarely seen. Simply an amazing book.
