Overview

Upon Popular Demand comes 'December Frost'--the sequal to 'Then Came November' readers have been asking for. It is a story which satisfies readers who want more of 'Then Came November' but stands well alone. Both readers who enjoyed 'Then Came November' and those who have come upon 'December Frost' fresh will enjoy a story they will not soon forget...
This family affair is set against the backdrop of bruised blue sky and an ocean of varying shades of gray, Truro on Lower Cape Cod in the dead of winter. Catherine McCarthy and her brother-in-law, Ted, have come to know an unexpected love for one another. A love which casts Ted and Catherine against the wide open, brooding horizon-- the sea and sky aching the eyes to the point unknown where the unlikely lovers are sure, somehow, the two must be meeting.
Together Catherine and Ted find themselves in a roaring and raging storm swirling around them --a mass of white and gray as mighty as any Nor'easter, leaving them blind as everything else slips away.

A year after the holiday season which changed everything for her entire family, Maeve McCarthy gathers with her grown children on Christmas Eve.
While Catherine McCarthy's husband lay dying she was in another man's arms--his brother's. Just as the dust begins to settle, Maeve McCarthy and her family are in for a Christmas Surprise that will stir everything up again...

She can't run. She can't hide. Love for two brothers has found Catherine McCarthy...

Meet the Author

Author of the SAND BETWEEN THE TOES Series:
T. Patrick Mulroe,Jr. is from Oak Park, IL. During college he found a 'second family' on Cape Cod when he was looking for a place to live. On a cold winter morning he stepped into a church in Hyannis, MA--Saint Frances Xaviar. As he stepped out of the church he saw a sign that read GUESTS. The front door was open. Muriel MacKenzie rented him a room. That night Muriel's oldest daughter informed him that her mother said he resembled her husband, Frances. When he left to go back to Oak Park, IL Muriel told him he would return to Cape Cod because he had 'sand between his toes'--she could tell. For the next several years he divided his time between Oak Park and Cape Cod. When he and his wife were married in Hyannis Port at Saint Andrew's By The Sea Muriel MacKenzie and her family members were there with them. He lives with his wife and five children in Monona, WI. They spend summers on Cape Cod, MA.
--Christmas comes once a year, but the feelings and emotions surrounding it are often a year in the making. Steeped in tradition, the yearly celebration takes on more importance as families change.

This story came about during the heat of summer while T. Patrick walked his children from swim lessons to various recreational activities. Traveling on foot alone in the scorching heat as he returned to the pool to collect his youngest two the members of the MacCarthy Family began to form in his mind. Their story started to build in his imagintion as he realized that the telling of of this holiday tale would be in the making all year long. A second book was never intended, but the story & readers demanded it.

A photograph hidden in the pocket of a shirt, held close to the heart, became the center of the story. Why was the photograph kept in that pocket? What would happen if it was seen? Who was the photograph of? When had it been taken? How had it come to this--that the only way Catherine McCarthy could be part of her family's holiday celebration be a photograph hidden inside of a pocket?

A year after the holiday season which changed everything for her entire family, Maeve McCarthy gathers with her grown children on Christmas Eve.Just as the dust begins to settle, Maeve McCarthy and her family are in for a Christmas Surprise that will stir everything up again...
