Meet the Author

Detroit native, Sylvia Hubbard, a single mother of three, has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage emerging writers in Michigan. She independently published her first romance novel in 2000 and has continued to write in that genre, sometimes venturing into other sub-genres. Always urban and contemporary styled, her writing is enjoyed all over the world. She has published 8 paperbacks and over 30 e-books. The same year she published, Ms Hubbard also created Motown Writers Network to fill the lack of education and networking for Michigan authors online and offline. By 2004, she was frustrated that all the literary conferences had moved too far away from the city and co-created The Essence of Motown Literary Jam Conference held only in the City of Detroit annually. In addition to romance writing, Hubbard has been featured at various conferences and workshops all over the United States and Canada, where she has taught authors how to sell their books on the Internet. She also published Internet Marketing for Writers & Businesses as a resource for those unable to attend her workshops. In the upcoming year, she will be featured in several anthologies and plans to publish additional e-books.

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't care for the sex in exchange for money part but overall the story was good. There is some drama that well keep you reading. This was a nice change from your everyday typical romance novel.

Truly awesome! This book was good. A few typos but it was worth it.

I always enjoy reading anything by Sylvia Hubbard, but you really need a proof-reader and an editor. The plot was, as always, great, but it was hard to read with many awkward passages, grammatical and factual errors (i.e. identical twins are ALWAYS the same gender) I admire her talent and imagination.

"Excuse Miss but can I give you a ride?" This was a great book and I really enjoyed it. Phoebe had to learn how to trust again after her ex-husband used her for her money and left her and the children broke. Jacoby has to learn that there is a woman out there for him, that wants him for him and not his body or his money. The schemes and the scandals that these two have to go through to be together is heartbreaking, but what do you do when your heart belongs to someone else?

Starts out slow but then you can not put the book down

This story started out with no plot and pretty well ran that way through the entire book. Was a pretty trashy book in terms of the language, the plot and the characters. Thank heavens it was a very short story!

I had picked this book up and initially began to read it because it took place in the Detroit area and that's near to where I'm from, but I was disappointed. I only read a portion of this book before I lost interest in the story line. The scenario wasn't plausible and, unlike other implausible stories that I have read, the writing didn't make me want to read on to see what happens with the main characters in the story.

would not pay but it's okay for a time filler.

I enjoyed the plot and the characters - the spelling and grammar were another story. Improper tense changes, poor use of contractions and minor errors such as the confusion between to and too. Most of these errors are minor, but when they occur page after page i just have to say - get an editor. One star off for the massive amount of editing snafus.

Skipped many pages. Too repetitive.
