Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
"Gray Lynch was there at the Bay of Pigs and was in perfect position to write the definitive ground-level account of what went right and what went wrong. His anger toward the men at the top is the anger of a patriot who feels he was betrayed. This is not a book for those who love Camelot."

"Grabs and retains the reader's attention with fastpaced action, convincing tactical commentary, tales of bravery, a few accounts of cowardice, and the story of a brutal, tragic end to the enterprise."

"This book is his testimony--a devastating corrective to the historical pseudo-record."

Booknews
The author, who was the CIA's case officer on the command ship of the 2506 Brigade (the Bay of Pigs invasion force), argues that the Kennedy administration, especially the Department of State, emasculated CIA plans both before and during the invasion, dooming the operation to certain failure, and then attempted to place the blame on the Brigade and the CIA. Primarily basing his account on his own recollections and interviews of other CIA personnel, he offers a blow-by-blow retelling of the action and a critique of the accounts of administration historian Arthur Schlesinger and others. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.
Mark Falcoff
This book is his testimony - a devastating corrective to the historical pseudo-record confected by Kennedy henchmen and apologists.

Wonderful book on the Bay of Pigs

I truely enjoyed reading this book. It was not only informative but concise and easy reading to boot! The author gives a detailed account on the happenings at the Bay of Pigs invasion. Who else to give the accounts than someone who was actually there?!!!!! I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Cuba and the Bay of Pigs invasion! I am awaiting his book on the Cuban Missile Crisis.....

At last, a book on the Bay of Pigs that tells it the way it happened.

Well at least the story got told! After 40 years, Greyston Lynch tells of the Kennedy administrations disasterous handling of the Bay of Pigs. Lynch was the CIA's man at the bay who also fired the first shot of the Battle. Well written, this book will keep your interest. Don't read if you are unwilling to place the blame where it belongs for the failure at the Bay of Pigs, the Kennedy administration. Can't wait for his next book on the Cuban Missle Crisis to be published!
