Overview

A one night stand has never gone so wrong ... or so right. Two months after one scorchingly hot July night, tattoo artist Abby is pregnant and the man who showed her everything she'd been missing is nowhere in sight. When he walks into the Hot Ink Tattoo Studio looking for much more than some new ink, she risks their rekindled connection by confessing that she's pregnant ... with his twins.

Sworn to serve and protect, Pittsburgh police officer Sam isn't one to back down from responsibility, and he's definitely not going to let the woman who's been haunting his dreams all summer get away again. But two babies on the way means a reunion that's anything but what he imagined. Can unforgettable chemistry evolve into real love before her due date arrives?

I am officially addicted to this series. I loved Abby! She was strong, yet vulnerable and it made watching her journey so much fun. Sam is such a good guy and a *sigh* cop with ink. This is an "out of order" love story where the babies come before love and an HEA, but it is not cliche. We do not spend the book *spoiler alert* dealing with all of the complications being preggo with twins can cause and instead we are focused on Sam and Abby building upon the connection they felt the night they met and decided to escape their lives through one another. Is it an easy road? absolutely not, but it feels authentic even when the past shows rears it's ugly head. If you have not read any of the other Ink series books, have no worries. This is a stand alone novel and while there are cross over characters, you do not need any prior knowledge of them to thoroughly enjoy this book. This is a hot, sweet, and complete (yay for no cliffhanger). I really hope there is another book in this series soon! I seriously am addicted!

This third book in the Inked in the Steel City series is, like the first two books, an easy, pleasant read. There are no billionaries or alpha males here, just plane, mundane characters, which make the story more relatable and closer to home. What I have noticed though is that all the stories in the three books are very similar, losing the originality. The male characters sometimes think like girls (they are nervous on first dates, overanalyze what to wear, etc), which throws me off the more books I read in the series. But it is still an easy book to read, especially when all you want is some light reading with a happy ending. No fuss, no drama, all good, all happy. What concerned me about this particular book (and the reason I gave it 2 stars rather than 3) is that it glamourizes one-night stands, unprotected sex, and unwanted pregnancies (of twins, no less) in a context that is all goodie-goodie and completely detached from reality. Such a terrible message to send, especially to the younger audience.

Two months after a one night stand Abby discovers she is pregnant.  She doesn’t expect to ever see the guy again. When he shows up in Hot Ink for a tattoo it isn’t by accident.  He can’t stop thinking about the night they shared.  But is he ready to be a father?   This story was by turns sweet, scary, funny, sad and oh so sexy.  These two veritable strangers brought together by a night of passion and its consequence working together to make the best of things.  This book can be read stand-alone but the others are so good you need to read them too.  Besides there are a few inside jokes you might not get if you hadn’t read at least Innocent Ink

I throughly enjoyed this romance.  The hero is fresh out of a bad relationship. The heroine is a tattoo artist who finds herself expecting twins after a one night stand.  The hero steps up right away and the romance grows from there. It is engaging.  What keeps it from being a 4 star book is the lack of rich secondary relationships and the flatness of the villain of the piece.  The villainy is pretty minor and this is many a lovely character driven piece that I really liked.  Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Did not care for at all. Did not connect with Abby. Did not feel she had any deep emotion about the whole situation. Time was just skipped over, rushed thru.

I loved Abby and Sam! When two people are reeling from disastrous relationships, the last thing they're looking for is everlasting love. But one night of passion is about to intertwine their futures in the most unexpected way. This is the third book in the series and lacked nothing in intensity and romance, but what I loved the most about Abby and Sam's story, was the reality that this scenario could actually happen to anyone. Abby's body art is beautifully described and her strength of character is a breath of fresh air! I hope I'm not waiting too long for book four.
