Children's Literature - Leslie Greaves Radloff
High interest, easier vocabulary, larger print size and many photographs give this slim book much appeal, especially for those younger male readers who ask for true science. Pages include factoids of information which are set off by colorful illustrations. The breaking up of text, headings, and choices of information, i.e. photos of the first Russian dogs in space and a male astronaut taking a bath aboard a spaceship, provide not only information but a little space trivia. The thirty-two page book includes a glossary, an index, and sources for further information. Chapter headings are short and to the point. This title is one of six in the series "Extreme Nature" from Crabtree Publishing. It would be worth paying for the library bound edition of the text as it would seem to appeal to many readers.
