I would say lengthen it. It seems short and i got lost on exactly what was going on. But there was good details that help solidify the scene. (If you need another character if you are lacking ideas, i can create one. But it often happens that people get flooded with characters.)

I run.
Fists of waves claw the sand as l force one foot to pound after the other.
Scramble up, slip down, repeat.
Faster.
Eyes fixed on the dunes ahead. Don't look. Musn't look. Ragged breath; in, out; in, out.
Still l run.
Just when my lungs might burst and heart explode, a crimison star on the sand, l stumble.
A man turns back. He pulls me to my feet and urges me on.
Its getting closer.
I cannot stand, and fall again. I can run no more.
He kneels to hold me, and loks n my eyes.
"It's time. Quick! Now! Put up the wall!"
Closer.
So l built it, brick by brick. Row by row. A high tower, like Rapunzel's, but this has no windows. No where to lower my hair.
No chance of rescue.
"Never forget who you are!" He shouts, grips my shoulders, and shakes me hard.
A blanket of terror obliterates the sea. The sand. His words, the bruises on my arms, chest and legs.
Its here.

[Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this! Character applications? I need a few! Thanks!]
&dagger Evelyn &dagger
