Deer Burger Cookbook is a best for anyone who loves cooking venison. I have found that Rick Black or Cousin Rick Black is down to earth and really enjoys what he does and that makes reading and using his books fun.

I found that Cousin Rick Black covers the following perfectly in this great book: •Venison burger cookbook with lots of variety of recipes. •A good resource, well-indexed. •Includes recipes for canning, drying, sausage making, smoking, pickling,Jerky, and preserving. •Provides info for venison care from the shot to the supper table. •Wide variety of recipes. * Fun deer hunting jokes as well as tips.

a must have cookbook if you are venturing into venison cuisine, if you have tried your hand in Cousin Rick Black's outdoor style of cooking, you know that it’s not easy, this book will get you started in the right direction the recipes has been adjusted and adopted for the home/cabin-cooks, directions are easy to follow and there are enough tips on where to source the ingredients the book contains helpfull steps to guide you further in outdoor cooking very carefully organized, recipes are grouped by style, the dishes were also crafted to complement other dishes–you can create a small feast using this book. As far as venison cookbooks this is one of the best.

This great book comes highly recommended and for a very good reason. It is very good. In fact Great! Of all the hunting and wild game books my family has bought and used Deer Burger Cookbook is the King. I found this book more than a cookbook but a book for deer hunters including hunting tips, jokes, food safety, and of course very good venison recipes. Cousin Rick's line of outdoor cooking books also include Cabin Cookin, Grillin Like a Villian, and Wild Game Soups and Stews. Money well spent.

This is my first review on a cookbook but I could not pass this up. Deer Burger Cookbook is my all time best. My friends have talked about this book at work and now that I have my copies I agree. Cousin Rick Black will walk you through the steps of making great meals using deer burger. A one of a kind book and a must have for every hunter. My only question is when will he write another for us?

After meeting Cousin Rick last year at a fund raiser I knew he would have the best selling venison cookbook wrote. My buddies have been talking about Iowa's Cousin Rick and his, Books, Radio Show, and how cool he is. It's all good. We really enjoy his work with Camp Chef Pro Staff.

Oustanding, nomre really needs to be added. Cousin Rick Black is top notch. If you enjoy all of Rick Black's books like my wife and I do be sure and read his others. Wild Game Chilies, Soups & Stews, Grillin' Like a Villain, and Cabin Cookin' make for a great set of outdoor cooking.

This book is an excellent resource for the beginner or the seasoned veteran. Every recipe I've tried has been outstanding! The best thing about this book (besides the excellent recipes) is all of the Cousin Rick rhetoric, he uses a lot of down home country humor to keep the book as interesting to read, as it is great to use on the grill. A lot of cookbooks are just text with maybe a picture of the finished product, but Cousin Rick has filled his book with fantastic illustrations of the country way of life. I own several of Rick Black¿s books and I find this one to be own of his best works. This book should be a requirement for any hunter that likes to cook what he kills.

You don't have to be a gun toating hick to really enjoy Deer Burger Cookbook, But it sure helps! My wife and I really enjoy Cousin Rick's recipes and the Deer Burger Cookbook covers it all. 5 Stars.

I bet old Uncle Ted is proud of this Iowa raskle:) What a cool cookbook. This book covers every thing under the deer hunting sun on deer burger. A very good venison cookbook, heck if your a city slicker use that store bought hamburger also!

From page one the Deer Burger Cookbook will have you in its grip. Black walks you through the steps of making sure the venison is ready for some very good cooking. I can clearly say that this is the best venison cookbook bought and taken to our home.

Cousin Rick...That name alone means you know it's gonna be a good one. The recipes are fun to read and it is true... We will never have to ask the question 'What do you what to make with this deer burger'. From the cabin to the city...We will use this great book..

I have known Rick Black (Cousin Rick) for over 35 years. I hunted with his dad and I can remember when he was a young pup learning to hunt with our group. Rick's dad was so proud of the way JR, took to the timber. All of us knew then that there was something about Rick and his love of the outdoors. We watched Rick strom the football field, the track field, and remember how proud he was when he got his first metals in the Army. We have watched Rick grow as a outdoor writer and how he rasied his son Travis with the love of the outdoors. The Deer Burger Cookbook will also be another victory for this young Iowa hunter. Good job Jr. You are a hunter to be proud of. Thanks for all the work you do for the youth of our sport and the time you spend making sure hunting will be around for years to come.

Oh Yea! Iowa's old country boy deer hunter outdid himself AGAIN! I also was teh book signing where Black had his chili (Em, Em, GOOD)! Rick Black also had jerkey that he made from just one of his many in this book, boys,,,, Heaven shinned down out this meat!! By far the best venison cookbook EVER..

I am writing this review 3 months before this book will hit the shelves. Why? Because I had the privledge of meeting Rick Black at a book signing in Iowa City Iowa where Rick had a large pot of deer chili from one of the recipes in this book. I have been a hunter and cook of venison for over 40 years and I can clearly say it was the BEST DEER CHILI I have ever tasted. Iowa is proud of her native son. All I can say is 'Get ready for the best deer cookbook EVER WRITEN!
