Overall, this is a reasonable book. Its not quite as good as Tome and Blood, but it is a step up from Song and Silence. Most of the new feats presented are geared towards Clerics (because they use your uses of turn/rebuke undead), but Paladins could make good use if them if so inclined. The Prestige classes ae mostly pretty cool (EVERY Paladin should take levels as Hospitaler) and the new spells add some flavor. So, for your Cleric (but probably not much for Paladin), this book is a good buy.
I think this book is a great book, if you have ever played Diablo 1 or 2, Everquest, Ultima Online, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Warcraft 1 &2, etc. Then you'll love this book!
I say this is a great book if you ever want to play an in-depth, great role-played paladin or cleric. Clerics are my favorite and because of this book, they will be forever.
