Overview

If you're wondering what separates crossover supergroup Amici Forever from the rest of the opera-pop pack, just do the math. Two tenors plus two sopranos and one bass-baritone add up to an equation that trumps the competition: Compared to the four gentlemen of Il Divo, much less the solitary solos of Andrea Bocelli, this team has a range that can't be beat. Every aria can become a love duet, and when the other three vocalists arrive, they never fail to take it rapturously over the top. On their sophomore album, the quintet builds on the success of their debut, The Opera Band, proving beyond any doubt that they've got musical style to match their fashion sense. And even though they update the classics, part of their appeal is the respect they show for the originals. Most irresistible are the tracks that add vocals to some of the orchestral repertoire's most romantic melodies -- from Khachaturian's Spartacus on "Ocean Heart," for example, or Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto on "Nostalgia." For those whose tastes are less strictly classical, new songs like "La Fiamma Sacra" and the Celtic-tinged "So Far Away" tap into the eloquent pop ballad style of Josh Groban. But no matter what they're singing, Amici Forever succeed in conveying the pure passion at the music's heart.

I have loved Il Divo since they stormed the music world. Amici does not compare to Il Divo. Amici does not have the richness in their singing. I was told by a few fans of Amici that they are better then Il Divo. When listening to Amici, I regret to say that I did not like them.

This is one of the best cds that has come out this year. I didn't think that they could improve on their first cd, but I was plesantly surprised. A must have cd for any music lover.

This is the most incredible Album and needs to be up there in everyone's Top 5 ... Personally I cannot imagine a more glorious piece of work sung by any other artist of this ilk. The orchestral and vocal arrangements combined with the amazing blend of voices is superb and everyone who had anything to do with it should be applauded. BRAVO !

Even better than "The Opera Band" CD, Amici's versatility is well-defined on this one. Classical music lovers will recognize many of these melodies, and the original pieces are refreshingly diverse.

I can only say that Nick, David, Geoff, Jo, and Tsakane obtained perfection with this cd that I know will define them! Don't miss their tour in the USA in October and September. And don't forget to buy a hundred copies of their cd. They are perfect!!!
