Overview

The book is a true story about a father's blind devotion to his Oxy addicted son, chronicling the author's venture into the dangerous world of prescription drug dealers. "I make many mistakes as a father, but I have always tried the best I know how. Sometimes no matter what a person does as a parent, children may travel to dangerous places. Some will return from those places unharmed and some may never return. A family can look perfect from the outside but be quite the opposite on the inside. I have lived such a life. I do not know what made me do what I did for my son but I can only surmise that it was a combination of all of the defining moments in my life that lead me to where I am today."

Informative and very well written from someone who has experienced first hand devastation of a drug addicted family member. Read this whether you have or have not experienced the pain of drug addiction with yourself, a friend or family member. It will open your eyes!

Must have been so difficult for this father to put his entire story out here publically. But I think he did a wonderful job and I highly recommend anyone who knows an addict, is an addict, is affected by an addict or is just interested in this topic to read this book.

124 pages. A very honest book written from father's point of view. I read it quickly. I've never had a child addicted to drugs but it was scary to read about how easily his son lied, how lived in filth, cheated to acquire drugs, how many rehab visits he went to.

I could say: "Wow! What a read!" I could also comment on how very few editing errors exist. But something this heart wrenching just cannot be minimized to words I would use about fiction. May the powers that be light your paths.

I have dealt with addiction in my family all my life. This book is an interesting point of view. It does seem to be to be a little bit of an enabler family.

Gritty, well-written and honest account of the author's attempts to deal with his son's oxycontin addiction. No goodie-goodie himself as a young man, the father writes with a compelling and straightforward voice. Powerful.

After reading this book I wonder what is the sons story in his own perspective. How therapeutic and inspiring it can be to publish it. Also very exciting for an intrigued reader like me! Much regards to this author/dad/parent advocate.

Very interesting read for anyone who has had chemical addiction in their family. It is a long, hard road to recovery.
