Deformation of Ceramic Materials II
Charlotte has always loved to hear old-timers tell stories. Even if her dad said, "Your Uncle Joe's stories are all bull," on his next visit she would say "Tell me another bull story, Uncle Joe."
In this book, Charlotte has gone to visit with old-timers and shares their stories about life and places in the Crystal River Valley, going back six-seven generations.
"Born in Oklahoma but conceived in Texas!" is the reason Charlotte Graham loves to tell jokes at Texans' expense in Memoirs, Volume One. Well, that and the fact that she spent most of her childhood at church schools in Texas and Oklahoma, and boarding school in a remote section of Arkansas. As you can imagine, this exceptional educational experience gave her many stories and fed her imagination.
On a trip with her husband, Doug, they came to Marble, Colorado over McClure Pass in a motorhome for a weekend visit. They loved it so much they ended up staying for 18 years. Of course, Charlotte couldn't sit still so she served on several local historic society boards, started two Marble newspapers, created and organized a community non-profit economic development organization.
Whether marketing projects, business plans or grants; writing has been an untamed passion she has expressed through a lifetime of professional venues.
She has now written her first set of local history books about the Crystal River Valley, and the first ever written for Carbondale!
Charlotte has other writing projects in the pipeline-a novel called "Conjecture" about mayhem and murder in a remote mountain community and a memoir about Northern Ute elder, Clifford Duncan due out in 2016-2017.
Graham lives full-time in the Crystal River Valley with her husband, Doug Whitney.
