A Memoir of When Money Stopped Working

Have you ever wondered what life without money is like? The tool we all know as money is a very useful tool we use today to measure value and facilitate trade. To imagine a world without money is difficult, but the author of this short memoir has experienced such a world.

Zimbabwe is the country, and 2008 is the year on which this memoir focuses. It offers various glimpses into the perils of everyday life at the time. In it, the author shares personal experiences of the country’s economic downfall and hyperinflation, putting emphasis on the “defunct” nature of money in the country at the time.

Money fuels modern living and life slows to a halt when that fuel runs out. Expect to know the extremes of regression, societal dysfunction and counterproductive chaos from reading this short memoir.

Meet the Author

I am a curious being at heart. Having kept in touch with the adventurous spirit of childhood, I live to learn and have new experiences. With an inquisitive mind and an insatiable desire to learn more about life, I use this motivation and creativity to write my books. An author since 2011, I write in multiple genres. I write self-help books under the "Mere Reflections" series. The books are designed to uplift, inspire and motivate, and they focus on self-improvement. I am a poet, with two poetry series to my name. "What Is Love?" is a poetry series inspired by my love life that portrays the eternal question its title asks. "Reality Check" is an inspirational, self-help poetry series inspired by events and circumstances in my life. I also write fiction, and books in this category include the "Detective Dave Garner" series of crime-thriller novelettes, and Project Proxy, which is the thriller novel I debuted my career with.
