Overview

Icy dread gripped Gemma Montague's heart as she stared at the approaching pirates. Their captain was dead, the lieutenant useless, and there were pirates approaching.

Having spent years indulging her father's passion for studying Naval battles, Gemma knew this pirate was either very competent or very stupid, taking on a much larger ship.

Captain Jack Malloren wasn’t stupid; he knew how to spot wounded prey, and the British man-o-war was disadvantaged. But he hadn’t expected defiance, particularly in the form of a beautiful English rose.

Meet the Author

I've just completed the third book in the D'Arth Series, the Gamble, which completes the series. I am currently working on a Victorian set in London. I live in New Zealand and I work on the railroad. No kidding. Actually I have a desk, from where I manage the safety systems. My love for Harry Potter is what drew me into writing and I haven't stopped since. I've only recently started writing original stories. I live with my partner, our daughter and an elderly dog.

liked the story, liked the characters. many unexpected and expected twists but good overall. would have liked a more detailed epilogue--the ending felt rushed.

I enjoy the story very much butgot the strong impression the author wanted to wrap it up quickly. It was cut short in various areas and choppy.

This plot was well developed, a little dragged out but it really gave the reader the full story and showed every angle. Loved the characters!

The book's writing and plot line are extremely simple. I was only able to get about 1/3 of the way through the book. I would not recommend.
