Overview

Charlie and James have nothing in common … except a particular interest in a certain type of sex. Even though their chemistry is so hot it could burn a house down, neither of them is foolish enough to mistake their physical connection for love. Right? Watch what happens when you mix a masochistic yoga teacher, a domineering businessman, and one night of uninhibited fun in Eve Dangerfield’s new romance novel Degrees of Control.

Seeking satisfaction…

Charlie Bell is your typical yoga teacher. She’s friendly, earnest and has some slight masochistic tendencies. After a painful break-up she’s determined to address her long-denied kinks and her friends have just the man for the job.

James Hunter is a model turned corporate suit. It’s a boring gig but strings-free screwing has always been his preferred form of entertainment. After a “chance” encounter at a party, James agrees to school Charlie in the harsher side of sex. He knows she’s too sincere for a guy like him but he can’t possibly resist a starry-eyed submissive like her. But what begins as a casual encounter soon becomes a connection that runs deeper than Charlie and James could have ever imagined.

As a sub, this really entertained me to no end, especially with all the things I could relate to based on personal experiences and hearing other stories. Charlie was a submissive woman, but I loved that it wasn't the only thing she was. She was assertive and even dominant in the things she deemed important. James, with his equally dominating personality, was adorable when it came to being humbled by her. The sex was as intense as the falling, and although James had a rather dark ghost hanging over his shoulders, he still managed to fall under Charlie's sweet touches and innocently prying heart. The story flowed well and the delivery was great. I loved how it sucked me in to a point that I forgot I was reading. I was thoroughly entertained with the sensuality of it all and the way the characters interacted, especially Charlie's best friends, who all supported her without hindering her. They stuck to their original voices and I just absolutely loved what they added to the story. A definite recommend.

Degrees of Control is an engaging, fun romance story. We have Charlotte Bell, a yoga teacher, who is sassy, honest, and has a kinky side she’s spend a lot of time hiding, but doesn’t want to hide them anymore. The love interest, James Hunter, is a rich executive who doesn’t mind schooling Charlotte (nicknamed Charlie, so I’ll refer to her as that from now on) in the harsher side of sex. And although their erotic play tends to be edgy, the two also form a geuine connection between them that’s deeper than what either of them could’ve thought. I liked that even though Charlie is submissive in the bedroom, she’s not submissive all the time. She knows how to stand up for herself and what she believes in. And although James is a dom, he does care a lot for Charlie. I find that too often in erotic romance, the submissive tends to have a submissive personality all around, which isn’t always the case in real life, and that the dom tends to be dominant in all aspects of life, which isn’t always true either. The writing was great, and it was easy to connect to both characters. I enjoyed their romance, and would recommend it to all fans of erotic romance. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
