Delmark - 50 Years of Jazz and Blues: Blues

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Campbell
Delmark's 50 Years of Jazz and Blues is a decent two-CD, 32-cut retrospective containing exceptional blues material released on the Chicago label since its inception in 1953. Classic material by Otis Rush, J.B. Hutto, Little Milton, Little Walter, and Sunnyland Slim is included alongside previously unissued tracks by Junior Wells, Sleepy John Estes, Magic Sam, and Big Joe Williams. This collection gives a superb overview of Delmark's activities through the years, and is recommended to all blues historians along with beginners just starting to explore this music.
