For the past year or so, I have read the eight Deltora Quest books to my 8-year-old son before bedtime. We loved the series! The characters were interesting and believable and the adversity and enemies the heroes faced were imaginative and formidable. This series is well-suited for children but even I was surprised by the ending. It's a terrific series but read all eight to truly appreciate the many story lines!

I absolutely love the Deltora Quest books. My 11 year old son and I read them together. The vivid descriptions and wonderful details add to the exciting story line. We have read the Deltora Quest books 1-8, the Deltora Shadowlands 1-3, the Deltora Book of Monsters, and the Dragons of Deltora 1 & 2. We are anxiously awaiting book 3 and 4 in the Dragons of Deltora. These books are so well written and have such a fascinating story they would make excellent movies!

I do not mean to offend anyone who liked this book, but i thought it was the worst book i have ever read. HORRIBLE! There was hardly any detail and was very repetitive. I recommend for everyone to NOT READ THIS BOOK!

Deltora quest may not include a lot detail but it certainly is good. A unique story of a awespriring journey,an everlasting friend- ship, monsters, sorcery, evil, and danger is perfect for anybody who has ever liked Harry Potter,Chronicles of Narnia,or just has a thirst for adventure.

This book was extremely good. It had so many puzzles, and tricks I couldn't even see them all. I really liked how the author would describe all of the creatures. I'd have to agree that I have enjoyed the Harry Potter series a little better, but no dought Deltora Quest would be in 2nd. Anyone who enoys a good fantasy book that has a great amount of action would love this book.

I found this volume on the discount shelf at my Barnes and Noble for $5 and picked it up. It was DEFINITELY worth that money. However, I do NOT think that these are quite as good as Harry Potter. HP keeps you on your toes and makes you think. I just felt like these books flowed a little TOO easily. It went too fast. Also, there were not that many good descriptions. I like knowing what a monster looks like, and what people look like. It adds so much more to the book. I do recommend these books to anyone who likes fantasy, though. They are very good, but in my highly biased opinion, nothing holds a candle to Harry!

This is a great book, awesome series! Lots of adventure, action and excitement in every chapter! I started reading it with my son and then found that I could not put the book down myself! And, I never saw him so excited and interested in books until we started reading Deltora Quest! Now he begs to stay up a little past his bed time so that he could read more!!! For Reading!!! Is this MY child, the same boy who'd argue for days about having to read as homework, now can't wait to read!! It brings tears to my eyes. Sure I'd let him stay up to read! (Thank You to the author: Emily Rodda) Now we're off to purchase Volume II :-)

I've read this book, and the author is WAY too dramatic. It's like 'A dog came. He gasped in utmost terror'. It's a pretty good fantasy for children though.
