Meet the Author

About me, huh? Well, my official bio reads like this: Patti Larsen is an award-winning middle grade and young adult author with a passion for the paranormal. But that sounds so freaking formal, doesn’t it? I’m a storyteller who hears teenager’s voices so loud I have to write them down. I love the idea of sports even though sports hate me. I’ve dabbled in everything from improv theater to film making and writing TV shows, singing in an all girl band to running my own hair salon. But always, always, writing books calls me home.I’ve had my sights set on world literary domination for a while now. Which means getting my books out there, to you, my darling readers. It’s the coolest thing ever, this job of mine, being able to tell stories I love, only to see them all shiny and happy in your hands… thank you for reading. As for the rest of it, I’m short (permanent), slightly round (changeable) and blonde (for ever and ever). I love to talk one on one about the deepest topics and can’t seem to stop seeing the big picture. I happily live on Prince Edward Island, Canada, home to Anne of Green Gables and the most beautiful red beaches in the world, with my very patient husband and four massive cats.

This is one series that constantly keeps me up late and sucks me

This is one series that constantly keeps me up late and sucks me into the story easily. It’s highly addictive! Ms. Larsen pulls all the tricks out for this one. Absolutely thrilling! I think this one is the best so far that I’ve read in the Hayle Coven series! It’s full of action, drama, suspense and some blood warming love.

Syd is back, still trying to fit in at her ‘normal’ life in high school while juggling being a witch. But after an attempted kidnapping that ends in a black out, she’s not sure she’s got it all together as she thought. Especially when she’s part demon and her demon is now talking to her!

I love the inclusion of the Vampires in this one. Though it’s heart breaking to witness a traitor close to the family. The story is woven to keep us suspended with mystery and turns we never see coming. I adore Syd’s mother Miriam. She’s always taking a beating for her Coven and the danger around them amplifies when a mysterious stranger who seems all too familiar steals something precious to Miriam. This brings her husband Harry from the Demonicon world and puts him in precarious situation.

I loved the interactions between the characters. The ties of love, honor and loyalties are stretched as the story climaxes, putting Syd, as always in the thick of things. The ending was a true surprise to me. Heck, it was a shocker! I can’t wait for the next book to see how things pan out and if Syd will ever be one with her magic and Demon.

I am seriously not even going to ask if this series can get any

I am seriously not even going to ask if this series can get any better! I enjoy each book in the series even more than the last. Patti Larsen definitely has a great thing going with this Hayle Coven set.
*I don't want to give any of the goodness away so I apologize right now for a cryptic review!*
Demon Child jumps right into the action with Syd and her friends out on a camping trip, which of course goes horribly wrong, for Syd at least. When is anything ever easy for her? Demon Child also brings back the dreadful Chosen of Light, along with a few new characters. Syd's demon starts finding her own voice and wanting some control, leaving Syd waking up in odd places and at war with herself. A huge betrayal takes place in Demon Child, which completely caught me off guard. Syd and Quaid, Quaid and Syd...I loved how they finally seem to come together, but was cussing him at the end. Can't this guy just stop being a jerk??? *pulling my hair out*
Syd finds herself alone, once again, when her friends turn their backs on her in favor of another. The new guy rubs Syd the wrong way and she knows there is something off about him but no one seems to want to believe her. When it comes time for the showdown, Syd finally gets her dream come true, or so she thought.
This book found me breathless at times, heart pounding. Larsen was able to do what few authors can do... bring tears to my eyes. Actually, they were rolling down my cheeks. I felt so heart wrenching sad for Syd. If you haven't started reading this series you need to NOW! Another wonderfully written chapter in the Hayle Coven story!
