When i finished this book i couldn't believe what i just read. The Demon Thief had a very good story line that will amaze you, awe you, and defiantly surprise and shock you! Once you pick this book up, there's no possible way you can put it down. It's just that good of a book! Darren Shan (the author) has made another masterpiece once again.

I really really liked this book. I actually was just in my school library when I found this book, but I had to get back to class. I saw this book on a table and thought it looked interesting. I now am intent on reading all the books in Darren Shan's thrilling series, 'The Demonata'. I loved the way he was so imaginitive and clear about the ideas and asthetics of the demon worlds. It wasn't cheesy or predictable. The demon worlds were completely seperate concepts than our known universe. This gave every step through a light window new curiosity and adventure. The events in this book were excellently pieced together in order to create a plot line worthy of my highest praise. The book ws magnificent and I am intent on investigating Darren Shan's other works. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those interested in horror and fantasy. Find The Demon Thief!!!

This book was interesting to me cause the young child thinking he was weird and how he saw the patches of lights on his wall the lights were always a portal to the other world. The world of Demonta the boy Kernel Fleck had to save his brother from going into one portal after another. I enjoyed this novel and i like the other ones Demon Theif was one of my favorites.I think you have to love grewsome novels and demons and vampires to like darren's books the demonta series is a big deal to me and iam not like other readers after i read the books i love to share the stories with my dad so i tell him what they were about.this book is totaly recommended by me.

A really unique thing about this novel is it starts out with completely new characters a new setting and the perfect storyline. There are a few returning characters from the first novel Lord Loss like Dervish and Lord Loss. But this story is set sixteen years before the events of Lord Loss and the new main character has a unique, special power(just like Grubbs from Lord Loss). This story sets the pace and a standard for all the books in the rest of the series. There is non-stop action and gore. And again Darren Shan has made a terrific connection with all the characters throughout the story making it one of the best of the series. But the best thing in the novel is the HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE plot twist at the end!!! Another good thing about this story is it describes a lot of the universe of the Demonata making you feel like you are in the story yourself. Making this the all-time best novel in the world.
Warning: This novel is even way more gory than Lord Loss. Meaning that on a scale from one to ten on gore this book is a 199!!!

Do you believe in demons? Well if you do, the Demonata Series may be just for you. The second book in the series begins with a character named Kernal Fleck. He has lived in the city pretty much his entire life. He also has had a special talent. He can see patches of light. When he tells his classmates this, they label him as a weirdo or freak. Kernal then becomes miserable over the next year. He tries to fit in but just nothing works. To have fun, he plays with the patches of light. He always wonders why only he can see the lights. One night, he slotted the lights together. He wanted to stop, but it was like a magical force had taken him over. He kept on slotting the lights into place until all the lights slotted together and became one piece and formed a window. Kernal stepped through it¿and didn¿t come return for three days. When he came back, he noticed his little brother, Art, in his arms. What was stranger was Kernal had no memory of what had happened. His parents were beyond frightened so they moved from the large congested city, to the simple life of Pakinston. Life goes on for the Fleck¿s in Pakinston. Everything goes on as normal until one morning when Kernal took his brother to school. When Kernal and his classmate were outside learning, a window opens and lets a demon loose killing Kernals classmates and steals Art. Not only the demon comes through the portal but four strange people too. Kernal from this point on, is on an adventure fending off demons, trying to rescue his brother, and finding out more about his strange powers¿ I liked this book a lot. This was the second book in the series and I thought it was just as good as the first. This book includes mystery, fantasy, and horror all in one book. The description of the demons were mind-blowing and the description of the mystical powers were enticing and made your mind want to know more. Some things how I didn¿t like the book were some confusing scenes and how the second book left on from the first book and how did it relate. This book is a part of a series. You could read this book without the first, but you will be confused on some character¿s pasts and some enemy¿s stories. I recommend you read the first before this one. Anyone who loves to be kept on the edge and loves horror-lurking around the corner would like this book. This book is a lot book the author¿s other series, Cirque Du Freak, with all its horror and good vs. evil scheme. If you have read previous books from Darren Shan or just love a good horror book, then you will love Darren Shan¿s newest and horror craving books, the Demonata.

Demon Theif is the acclaimed sequel to Lord loss by Darren shan the author of Cirque du freak series. Unlike the first book Demon Theif is bout a boy named kernel who is 'kidnapped' or brought into the world of demons and appears two days later. he goes to school a few days later and a huge dog flys out of a 'window' into the Demonata, a demon universe. The dog kills the teacher and other people. Four men and women stand in front of the portal while the huge dog captures kernel's baby brother, art. kernel jumps in after them and finds them near a river. They tell him they are the demon hunters and set off on a world of bloodcrazed demons. The book is filled with straight out demon GROSSNESS. This book makes you shiver in fear, make you have a hard time sleeping, and keeps you reading until you want to rip out your hair. Since the book takes place in the Demonata more than lord loss there are more demon like creatures, scary and gross, looking in all. Read Lord Loss before you read demon theif.

Again Darren Shan had written a gory fast paced book that I loved. I read this after school every day for one week and loved it. If you like lord loss you will cointinue to read until the last book comes out. The demons in this book are described gruesomely and are very graphic. All in all this book is a must!

Has anyone noticed that the Demonata series is a LOT better then the Cirque Du Freak series? Don't get me wrong, I absolutly love the Cirque Du Freak series. What I mean to say is that Darren Shan has come a lont way since writing the Cirque Du Freak series. The Demonata series is a very good series and I would reccomend everyone read it.

Dude, i love to read books that have vampires, demons, witches, and werewovles. And Darren Shan totally knows how to put one of those monsters in a story, and he also knows how to make it as grusome as possible, with leaving it a teen level book.

In the second chapter of the Demonata, its more of a prequel depicting Dervish in his younger days before meeting up with his nephew Grubbs from book 1 Lord Loss. Here we meet a character by the name of Cornelius 'Kernal' Fleck who is labeled as a freak because he can see 'lights'. After an incident involving his 'brother' Art, his family moves to another location and there Art gets kidnapped having Kernal to rescue him and along the way faces some demons and a startling revelation he must find himself and meets the infamous Lord Loss.

I'm usually not into books like this but I can say that Lord Loss and Demon Thief have spoiled me. Now I'll compare every other book to these and think....'man these suck and are nothing like LL and DT!' Can't wait for the third!
