Editorial Reviews

Jehara Quirky Girl
Jake and Cael Gillant are half-human, half-Anointed. Their mother is from the dimension of Karavel, where they were raised and trained alongside the other Anointed warriors. However, after an initiation gone wrong leaves Cael nearly dead, their mother sends them to the human realm to stay with their father, Henry.

For such a short and action-packed tale, James manages to craft her characters fully. In the short time I spent with them I grew to care about the characters.

Meet the Author

Clover Autrey's books have been referred to as "Romance in the Safety Zone." She calls it Edgy Sweet. The pages are chock full of adventure, attraction, fantasy and love, safe enough to read with your daughter or your grandmother, yet not so sweet it will put you in a sugar coma. Inspired by her love of Louis L'Amour historical romantic heroes, Clover (yeah, that's her real name), packed up and moved to Texas where she found a real live Texan of her own. She's been there ever since where she and Pat (who else would a Clover marry but a Patrick?) listen to the coyotes howl at the trains each evening. Clover has had a love of stories and romance reading for as long as she can remember, especially inventing her own. She writes the kind of stories she loves to read, high fantasy and time travels with Scottish Highlanders or magical mermen, ghosts, and shapeshifters with powerful elements of romance, where the hero and heroine must each make sacrifices to gain something even stronger.

    Nicely done

Very nice Urban Fantasy about a father and two sons who are demon trackers. The Annointed are demon trackers with special abilities who live in another realm. Jake and Cal are half Annointed and half human and track demons and other inhabitants of hell who break through to earth and kill them and/or send them back to hell. There is plenty of action, the plot and the characters are well done. This is the first of a series and about 240 pages long so a quick but interesting read.
My only complaint---the author is listed as CC JAMES but you cannot find her other books under this name even using the Related Topics by the same author. The other books in this series are listed under CLOVER AUTREY as the author. Hopefully this error is corrected soon.

An Action Packed Ride--Not to be missed!

Demon Trackers: The Annointed by CC James is an action packed read. You barely have time to catch your breath from one traumatic event before you're hit with the next heart stopping situation. An incredibly fine roller coaster ride from page one to the end.
While the book is aimed at the YA audience, this "very grown up" person found it a super read. Girls are going to go crazy over Cal and Jake, and older females will develop a "thing" for Henry, their father. Young men will see themselves in Cal and Jake, fighting the demons.
The relationship between the brothers is well drawn, and any parent can empathize with the angst Henry experiences when his children's lives are in peril.
CC James has developed a world "peopled" with dreadful, ugly, scary beings. You won't be able to put this one down, and this reviewer can't wait for the next book in the series, Banshee's Cry.
