All the stories were uniquely different, wonderful for their own reasons, and so entertaining. I think my favorites were The Witch of Vigil's Grove and Undead Housewives of the Other Orange County. The Witch one was scary and infuriating and beautifully written to capture the 1950s. With all the romance stuff around vampire lately I almost forgot they're supposed to be scary; The Witch story definitely reminded me how scary they can be. The Undead Housewives story was funny, cute, and super hot.
I can't wait for the full novel version of the Vigil's grove stories to come out!

I love this book as the companion to her earlier collection Demons of Paradise. The stories are fun, well-written, beautiful in some places, scary in others, and entirely sexy at just the right times.
Vampires aren't done yet, and Ms. Duffy shows us how many more tricks bloodsucking fiends can have!
