Editorial Reviews

Unlike Aphrodite, the mighty Denver Broncos did not emerge fully grown. In fact, as an upstart American Football League team in the '60s and early '70s, the Broncos suffered 13 consecutive losing seasons and racked up an inglorious 39-97-4 record. It was only after the leagues merged that the combine from the Mile-High City went into high gear, winning ten division championships and two Super Bowls. With player profiles, season recaps, and game pictures, Jim Saccomano's Denver Broncos: The Complete Illustrated History will ignite a whole new round of Broncomania.

Jim Saccomano is the vice president of public relations for the Denver Broncos, having spent more than three decades with the team. He has coordinated Bronco PR efforts for Denver’s world championship Super Bowls XXXII and XXXIII, as well as for Super Bowls XXI, XXII, and XIV. In addition to those five Bronco Super Bowls, Saccomano has been selected as a member of the National Football League’s public relations staff at 20 additional Super Bowl games.

In 1990, Saccomano and his staff were honored as the first recipients of the Pro Football Writers of America’s Pete Rozelle Award as the NFL’s outstanding public relations staff.

A Denver native and graduate of Metropolitan State College, Saccomano earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado and is a member of the board of directors for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.

Saccomano and his wife, Jo Ann, have two children and two grandchildren.
