Depth Chargeby Bobbi J. Weiss, David Cody Weiss
When visiting San Diego with the Stevensons, Allen senses an energy signal and discovers that it's coming from experimental torpedoes, lost in the bay during World War II. Their power has been building up over the years and they could explode any day, taking out ships and causing destruction in the city. Allen can neutralize the torpedoes by absorbing their energy into his body, but the only way to release the energy without exposing his secret is to literally shoot himself off like one of the fireworks in the Fourth of July display.
