Des Visages Des Figures

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Sergey Mesenov
Des Visages des Figures, the sixth studio album by French bad-boy guitar band Noir Désir, turned out to be their last. It was released in 2001 and featured a considerably quieter and more stripped-down version of Noir Désir's brand of fiery and angular guitar rock. The album went to number one in France, was certified double platinum, and brought the band two French Victoires de la Musique awards for best rock album and best video. The latter was awarded to their collaboration with Manu Chao entitled "Le Vent Nous Portera."

    EXCELLENT FOREIGN CD!!!!

This is a very interestin', fun to listen to CD. The music has a kinda electronic, alternative sound that adds more depth to it. Yes, they are French, and some songs do need to get used to. They sing in English (a lil' bit) in "Lost" and "Le grand incendie". Anyway, a fun, entertaining CD for people who enjoy foreign music, or just have an open-mind when it comes to music. If you like what you hear from the samples, then I guarntee you get this CD: YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!
