This non-fictional account is a daily diary of a husband's frustrations and challenges in trying to cope with his wife's descent into the mental abyss of Alzheimer's disease. There are moments of sad humor like when she attempted to eat her supper with a comb or the time when she wore five pair of pants. There are other times not so humorous like when she threatened to kill her husband or the instance when she picked up an ambulance gurney weighing a couple of hundred pounds and threw it ten feet in the street. You'll experience a love swore to eternity slowly deteriorate into a duty. In the end, the tears one expects at the funeral is absent because they were spent years prior when the help from agencies failed to respond to his plaintive cries for help. Names of individuals have been redacted to shield individuals.

This mind stealing disease not just robs the victim of his or her memories, which is bad enough, but caregivers suffer in different ways as their loved ones drift deeper and deeper into dark places where all the love in the world cannot reach. And when that love is offered, it isn't returned and it isn't even appreciated. The victim wakes up every day to a new morning of experiences, regardless of how repetitive, while the caregiver sometimes remains on the receiving end of rancor and abuse.
