Children's Literature - Beverly Kobrin
The most recent (as of this writing) of Jerry Palotta's ABCs, and his best-but, then, I say that about all of his books! Mr. Palotta's witty prose creates a feeling of warmth and undisguised delight at the marvels of nature. A teacher-par-excellence, he understands that the best lessons are those taught with laughter.

I was struck by the humor and the wonderful illustrations in this book. I use it in the classroom to teach about the desert and the children are fascinated with the animals and insects. It's so refreshing to find such mature and beautiful paintings in a childrens book. It seems 98 percent of them have oversimplified cartoony drawings. My children are inspired by the colorful art. I highly recommend this book.
