Don Linn provides a nice overview of the art deco style, with some historical information and suggestions about color and fabrics to use for quilts. I did like his technique of "building" the quilt design using paper, and his repeated admonishments to have fun playing with these designs. The construction part of the process seemed to get bogged down a bit -- I understand where he's going but it's probably a little too much math & engineering for the average quilter! There are lots of examples of art deco style quilts in the book's gallery; I found a few inspiring and some not so interesting.

This book is wonderful. The instructions on how to create your own design is easy to follow. It does take time to cut all the paper strips but it is very worthwhile to do just as Mr. Linn says. I loved my first design and could hardly wait to get on to the next. You will love this if you like to do something no one else has done. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
