If I was to recommend a book for a beginning quilter, it would definitely not be this one. I would recommend it to someone who wants to become a fabric artist.
There are seven chapters. Each provides a technique and then a project or two. None of them are quilts like most people think of quilts – one made from blocks, strips, triangles or squares. These projects are wild and more of a picture than a quilt.
If you are looking for a how-to for an art quilt or just a wall hanging that is more of a picture, this book will get you moving in that direction. Templates have to be enlarged before use. All types of thread, buttons and beads are included in the making of these items. Don’t forget, all types of materials, cotton, silk, velveteen and woven, are also used.
Don’t be deceived by the title of this book; it is not a learn to quilt book. It is a learn to be a fabric artist book.
