Design Explorations for the Creative Quilter, by Katie Pasquini Masopust, opens the mind of quilters to limitless design potential. Katie's creative process in this book is clear and concise. She begins by listing the simple tools needed to get started with the design process. She explains the use of color, composition, and analysis for creating the design. She takes the reader through exploring shapes, lines, photos, and paintings and shows how to isolate details and use repetition to compose design interest. Katie then shows the quilter how to take their designs, turn them into patterns and from those patterns, construct a quilt. This book is a wonderful resource for any quilter looking to break through the glass ceiling of traditional quilting and delve into the possibilities of true artistic expression. Was this review helpful?
