Intended to inspire and spark artist's creativity, "Design Intriguing Surfaces" combines digital printing with alternative surfaces. Silk, canvas, lutradur, organdy, pimatex cotton, tyvek and several types of paper are included in this ebook to highlight surfaces that can be printed on any straight path inkjet printer. This enables the artist to work with regular non art type printers. Of course the surfaces are also wonderful when printed on archival art printers also. The techniques can be used by anyone that wants to experiment and create this type of work.

“Design Intriguing Surfaces” includes precoating surface instructions, helpful hints and a complete supplier list. Each page is filled with visual eye candy that encompasses prints on the various surfaces discussed and also details of completed art work.

About the Author

The fiber work of artist Kathyanne White, has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States and abroad. Her work is in the collection of the Museum of Arts and Design, the American Folk Art Museum, Phoenix Airport Museum and the Archives of American Art of the Smithsonian Institution. She is the recipient of a 2009 Artists Project Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts. After being chosen for an Artist Residency in Yosemite National Park, White won the First Place Award in the Yosemite Museum Gallery Show, Yosemite Renaissance XXII,.

Kathyanne has been featured in a variety of arts publications including Fiber Arts, Surface, American Style, Folk Art Magazine, The Metropolitan Spirit, Log Home Design Ideas, Quilting Arts and New Zealand Quilter. In 2001 she was named a “trendsetter” in Art Business News, as an emerging artist. Fiber Arts Design Book #7 includes White’s work and her work appears in several catalogues including, Six Continents of Quilts: The Museum of Arts & Design Collection, 2003 Masterpieces: Spirit and Strength, and Tied Together: Textile Art in the 21st Century.

For more than 20 years White has conducted workshops sponsored by professional arts organizations. White’s current workshops focus on innovative strategies for expanding the digital print to uncommon surfaces. She inspires students to create quality digital prints on alternative surfaces for their artwork. Through the KathyAnne Art website, White creates workshops and tutorials, so others are able to learn and expand their techniques.
