Beginning with a simple 3-view drawing, I show readers and prospective designers, how to create a successful flying aircraft, specifically the Quickie Q1. With step by step instructions that go into detail about drawing the aircraft using Computer Aided Design for accuracy and professionalism. The Quickie prototype aircraft is then built and flown, and free plans are included with the book! When the model is flying and flying well, we turn our attention on how to make money from that design.

About the Author

I've always tremendously enjoyed any form of aviation. When I was a little kid I always wanted to be a pilot, and still do. I'm rebuilding a 1939 Taylorcraft and have always built model aircraft throughout my life. I wanted to fly so bad I bought an old Rogallo hang glider when I was 18 and flew that. Yup, it hurt when you crashed, but wow, what a sensation to fly off the ground! Years later I became quite good at hang gliding with lots of fantastic soaring flights. There is no better way to fly in my humble opinion.

My Dad and I spent many enjoyable years building and flying model aircraft, we still do. I have no idea how many different models I've built in the last 45 years but it has to number in the hundreds. I've always been involved in aviation through work and hobbies. It's what I like to do, it's fun, and rewarding.

I particularly enjoy designing model aircraft and always try to do something fun and unique. I wrote this book hoping to share some knowledge and spark interest in modelers who want to design their own aircraft.
