Overview

In DESIRED (Book #5 in the Vampire Journals), Caitlin Paine wakes to discover that she has once again traveled back in time. This time, she has landed in eighteenth century Paris, an age of great opulence, of kings and queens--but also of revolution.

Reunited with her true love, Caleb, the two of them finally have the quiet, romantic time together that they never had. They spend idyllic time together in the city of Paris, visiting its most romantic sites, as their love grows ever deeper. Caitlin decides to give up the search for her father, so that she can savor this time and place, and spend her life with Caleb. Caleb takes her to his medieval castle, near the ocean, and Caitlin is happier than she ever dreamed.

But their idyllic time together is not destined to last forever, and events intercede that force the two of them apart. Caitlin once again finds herself united with Aiden and his coven, with Polly and with new friends, as she focuses again on her training, and on her mission. She is introduced to the lavish world of Versailles, and encounters outfits and opulence beyond what she ever dreamed. With never ending feasts and parties and concerts, Versailles is a world of its own. She is happily reunited with her bother Sam, who is also back in time, and having dreams of their father, too.

But all is not as well as it seems. Kyle has traveled back in time, too--this time, with his evil sidekick, Sergei--and he is more determined than ever to kill Caitlin. And Sam and Polly each fall ever deeper into toxic relationships, which just might threaten to destroy everything around them.

As Caitlin becomes a true and hardened warrior, she comes closer than ever to finding her father, and the mythical Shield. The climactic, action-packed ending, takes Caitlin through a whirlwind of Paris' most important medieval locations, on a hunt for clues. But surviving this time will demand skills she never dreamed she had. And reuniting with Caleb will require her to make the hardest choices--and sacrifices--of her life.

"DESIRED is very well balanced. It was the perfect amount of words and a great follow-up for all the other books. The characters are very believable and I really care about what happens to them. The introduction of a historical figure was quite interesting and left a lot to think about this book."

I am getting really tired of Caitlin constantly questioning others motives and quickly deciding that she isn't liked. She is constantly 100% in love with caleb and then blake, and then caleb, and then blake. It feels like the same book time and time again.

Come on already! Thank goodness this book is cheap enough to keep reading the series. However, I am at the point that I can skim read much of its contents, due to the fact that the main character is constantly questioning her lifes purpose (predictable now). Hope this is wrapped up soon. Ugh!

Life is too short to read crap when better stuff is out there. The series is getting worse book after book. I have always finished a book I've started & never gave up on a series. But this is just not worth it, not time, money, or annoyance. I've posted reviews of the former books in this series. Always bad editing, errors, time line issues, insta-love, vamps acting like children when well over 1000 yrs of age. The roving coven of Adian's, conveniently always in the time and place where Caitin drops in. I've had enough. The story had promise, the author killed it. The series should have been 4 books tops and then ended. If we removed Caitin's internal dialog about Caleb and Blake the series would be in half for the betterment of the story. No more, never buying anything by this author again. Instead of improving as an author as she writes additional books she is getting worse. & that's saying something considering how poor the first few books were. It's like it's throw together & the arrogence of the author assumes ppl will buy it anyway. No quality, no work, but get paid. No thanx! Don't buy it, borrow it, and for goodness sakes don"t read it! Don't say I didn't warn ya! Pick something else. Many awesome books are even cheaper then this crap-tastrophy. Support those authors instead! Guess what Morgan Rice? If u won't take the time to edit your work, then I don't have time to pay or read it!

I've read the series. I also agree with BookLover78. I was confused with the "anonymous" reviewer bashing BookLover78 on their ability to spell and educational level. Apart from the fact that there were no misspelled words and the review was similar to several listed previously. We are here to rate and review the book; which means the author as well. A review is subjective to the reader; their thoughts and overall feeling for the book. If you disagree with a review write one sharing your own feeling on the book giving those reading reviews a chance to feel out the book by all the reviews. I will say that a review is not about the professionalism, spelling, and grammar; it is about the emotions the reader has about a book. My point, a book is a written work and as such it should be professional and edited properly since it generated income for the author. This author is independent, meaning that there is NOT a publisher. The author is their own publisher and they need to edit their work. I also note that the "anonymous" reviewer rated the book one star as well. I find that curious. They must dislike the book as well. I also enjoyed the series for the most part. I just could not get over all the mistakes, errors, misspelled words, word placement, and the storyline going off course. The series just now feels drawn out to repeat itself book after book. I am also finished with the series. And since it is my money purchasing the book it is my right to refuse to again. It is also my right to review a book any way I please. So please "anonymous" reviewer try to take those rights from me or from any of us.

I felt like rooting for Kyle at times. Caitlin was very annoying and lovesick. Hopefully, she will grow up and act like a heroine in book 6.

Ok I am still reading these books through all the bad editing and the story is a good one and keeps me interested, but as a chick myself I can not stand how the author keeps making this girl out to be such a child and so not like what any woman would do. I mean really she has this girl acting like a total idiot when it comes to men. OMG he's gonna leave me because he NEEDED a freaking moment to himself. Like really what kind of insecure crap is this. Like I said the books are good but reading this same crap from her over and over has made me almost give up on this garbage. Give your VAMPIRE main girl some balls. Its annoying!

The main character actually makes you start to not like her in this book. It does feel like the books are dragging
