    Uggggg.

I can't believe the good reviews this has gotten. A 28 yr. old business owner and a 26 yr. old are both consistently referred to as "boys". They wish they were home sleeping at what was just after moon rise. Women that were taken by human traffickers were given money for performing. Those are just a couple of examples. The book was nothing but a mess. Even at free, this wasn't worth it. A complete waste of time.

Loved this book... It was fun, fast and exciting. Starts with drama and it continues to the end!

It has a very stuborn and determined young lady, a mountain man (or is he), villians, unlikely heros and lots a places that make you smile!

There was only one thing I think the author messed up on... EVERY female has a comb with them, ESPECIALLY if they're going to a party, lololol!

Great book.... Doesn't involve a lot of thinking.. Just enjoyable and easy to read...

To anonymous aug 12,2012...do you realize this is a book review site and not a storytelling blog???? If you want to play author go to facebook, myspace or a web site for that, not here. Your feeble attempts at storytelling are not welcome here

I think this is this author's first book, I couldn't find any others on any of the other places to publish. As a first book, it is excellent. It could use a proofreader but the story and style, I like very much. The characters could use a little more depth but I think that will come with more books. I personally enjoyed it. It is an easy read, what I call a beach read which is good for the summer. I would recommend it for a light easy read but with a plot that is substanyial enough to keep you interested.

    Ok... lacks depth

The author gives little enough information to keep you curious, if you can suspend reality a bit to believe that people would really act as these characters do. Lacked depth, but had me curious enough to keep reading. Characters were likeable.

Could be better, could be a whole lot worse.

Desperate Rescue is not a bad story. It kept my interest and built some degree of suspense. The novel should probably have had a good copy editor as other reviewers mentioned. This book gave a good return for the money invested. And it is conceivable that I might some day return to reread this story.

    Cool book!

This is one of those books that seem to be boring, but hang in there! You won't regret it! It starts out about a girl named Janet and her friend, Sally. They go to a party thinking this will be best day of their lives. Wrong! It turned out to be the friends biggest mistake. Join Janet as she searches for her kidnapped friend, while at the same time she races for her life. Then she meets someone who says he will help her. Can Janet trust him, or is he one of them?
Has 354 pg. Was just a little disapointed at the ending, but you see what you think!

    Great read

It has everything mystery, romance and a dastardly agenda. Wile it is a quick read it does have some great twists and turns. I found it thoroughly enjoyable and will look for more from Ms. Baker

    Suspenseful.

Enjoyed the suspense. Was hard for me to put down. The ending was somewhat drawn out but still a good mystery. I would still recommend it.

    GOOD READ!!

This is my first read from this author. I got the book for free on my nook a while back, and I am just getting around to reading it. Sometimes, you get what you pay for, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this book.

Janet's friend Sally gets kidnapped while they were trying to escape a party that was getting a little out of hand for their tastes. She follows the kidnappers car all night only to find herself running from people in a very small town. She doesn't know who to trust, or where she can turn.

This book was full of twists and turns. For a freebie, the book was free of too many editing errors and so forth. So often when I get a freebie it is full of bad grammar and bad editing. This author has done a superb job with her editing.

I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and had a lot of twists and turns. The ending was a little cheesy for me, but still a very good read, even if I had paid any money for it. I will definitely look for more from this author.

    Thanx Ms. Baker!!

    Part 9

He may have looked guilty, but I knew if I asked, he wouldn't answer. "What is it like in the North?" I ask him, hoping to change the topic. "Well, I haven't been there for a while but it is very cold. Lots of snowstorms" he says. "Really? We hardly ever see snow in the South Pole! It just accumulates, that is why there is so much" I say, thouroughly interested by this. "Yeah. During summer months, we do see some grass, because some of the snow melts" He tells me. Grass, I hadn't seen it until I came to the island. I had been so wonderstruck by it that I had just spent days sitting in it. "Wow, your snow actually melts" I murmer. Every hour or so, I check the waters temperature. It is definitely getting colder. I am practicing forming bubbles when we get jolted. I fall and quickly get up, eyes wide. "What was that?" I ask, hoping it is not a tiger shark or something. "Sandbar, we must be close to an island" he explains. "Lets stop, we can get some supplies" I say. Slower now, the boat makes its way toward the island. When we are at the dock, I tie a rope around a post and the boat. A small market is set out right near the dock. "Excuse me, but could you tell us where we are?" I ask a plump man selling fruit. "This is the Northern Air temple actually" he explains, pointing to the mountain that rises up into the sky. I nod, and purchase some fruit from him. We walk around, buying things that we need. "Hey you, kids" whispers a raspy voice. Noatak and I turn, and we see a hunched over figure in a cloak behind a stand selling fish. Warily, we make our way over. "Hello, um, sir. Is there anything you need?" I ask him catiously. Hey, just trying to act casual. "You are two Waterbenders, right?" He asks hoarsly. "Yeah, why?" Asks Noatak slowly. "I wouldn't stay here much longer kids, there has been a strange disease going around Republic City and these areas. They call it the Blood Plague. Ordinary healthy citizens have started hemorraging and coughing up blood" He wheezes. I feel a chill start rising up my spine. "What does this have to do with us?" Demands Noatak. "The disease so far, has only effected benders. No one has yet survived it" he pulls down his hood and I gasp. Those sea weed noodles churn in my stomach. Horrible rashes and boils run over his face and hands. His eyes are bloodshot, and his mouth is bloody, with teeth missing. I turn away, and Noatak doesn't move but by the way he stiffens, I can tell he is repulsed. The old man coughs into his sleeve and I can see the red splotches. "I used to be an earthbender kiddies" he rasps quietly. "And I don't got much time left on this world. You should go, it is not contagious by contact, but some think it is in the air or caused by a freak bloodbender". To be continued in next result...

    Not that good...

I thought this would be good when I first started it, but not so much....it seems written in a very 'high school' type style and I kept thinking - Seriously!? Who would do that? Didnt care for it....
