About the Author

Floyd E. Friedli is Technology Manager for R&D Synthesis/Fabric Care, Goldschmidt Chemical Corporation, Dublin, Ohio. The author or coauthor of over 25 journal articles and presentations and the holder of five U.S. patents, he is an associate editor of the Journal of Surfactants and Detergents and a member of the American Chemical Society and the American Oil Chemists' Society. He received the B.A. degree (1973) in chemistry from the College of Wooster, Ohio, and the Ph.D. degree (1978) in organic chemistry from The Ohio State University, Columbus.
