There was very little in this book that was "news" to me. It would be good for someone who is just starting to change their habits and cleanse their body.
Feeling a bit sluggish in the summertime is never a good thing. Saw this book on the discount rack and bought it! What a great, easy read! I was so motivated that I have kept up the morning routine of drinking warm water with lemon to cleanse my liver. Does it work? I don't know--but it feels healthy and I feel good. Got rid of the 'all natural' power-type bars I wss snacking on and am concentrating more on yogurt, fresh fruits and veggies. After two weeks, I can truly say I feel great and I definitely have more energy. I keep this on my bed table to energize me at night. Very good beginner book for those who want to see what detoxing is all about.
Although I am by no means a 'detox expert', I found this book to be extremely helpful and comprehensive! I am so glad I found it on the bargain shelves @ B&N and I am now recommending it to my friends. Not only does this book address the appropriate food to eat when detoxing but it also covers the importance of detoxifying the body and mind as well by incorporating exercise, meditation, massage, aromatherapy, etc. into your routine. Included is a daily menu and easy to follow recipes. The diet primarily consists of fruits and vegetables. Surprisingly, I felt basically full most of the time and I even lost weight! Don't get me wrong...as a mother of two I desperately missed the food my family was eating and so it took a little will power. In the end, this was one of my best finds! I feel amazing!
