Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Anderson has written an entertaining and well-researched study of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. As one of the original members of the American League, which was formed in 1901, their history is rich with names like Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, and Al Kaline. The photographs collected here, many of which have not been widely available, are clear and well presented. The book is printed on heavy stock paper and is a delight to hold and read. While this is particularly recommended for Midwestern libraries serving Tiger fans, libraries with strong sports collections should also consider purchasing, as it is many notches above the cartloads of sports schlock being published today.-- Paul Kaplan, Dakota Cty. Lib., Eagan, Minn.

The BEST photo book on the Tigers - period

This is the fourth edition of this title. Each edition includes many new photos from the Tigers glorious (and sometimes not so glorious) past. This most recent edition is certainly the best. The photos are beautiful and the coverage is comprehensive. If you can only have one Tiger book this is it. However, if you are like I am, one is never enough. Acquiring all the previous editions is well worth the effort. So many photos are changed in each new edition that they all belong on every Tiger fan's shelf. This book is the gold standard by which all other Baseball Photo Histories should be judged. Go Tigers and Go Mr. William M Anderson. I look forward to the next edition of this wonderful book.
