    Awesome Book

With all due respect towards his opinion..I have no idea if this guy below me even read this book. This book was detailed to the 'T'. How he retained it all surprised me and finding time to write it in bootcamp. Clearly it is not written poorly due to the fact that it is a series of journal entries..thats the format of the book. This book was excellent it gave me a chance to read up on what I am getting myself into in less than a month..and it motivates me. If i was to describe this book in one word..Its definitely MOTIVATION!!!..and the author seems like a great guy. OOO-RAH!!

    A reviewer

Poorly written and boring, Gunny Price attempts to describe his boot camp experiences but demonstrates that he really doesn't remember much. A horrible rendition of what actually happens, I wouldn't reccommend this book to anyone.

    Takes me back

Being a former Marine reading this book, he took me back to boot camp and had me thinking of things that I had forgotten all about! He did an awesome job describing the 'small' events that most of us forget about that changed our lives! I can't put into words how amazed I am that he was able to find time to keep up with everything, but am glad he did - even though it effects us all in different ways, reading his story really helped me remember mine. Great read for former Marines, parents, recruiters (wish I had read it before I was one), and recruits.

Candid account of Marine Corps Recruit Training

Reading this book brought me back to my days in bootcamp. Having graduated Marine Corps Recruit Training in 2006, I find the journal of Gunny Price to be extremely accurate. His description of the training not only describes the twisted world of the drill instructor, but it also reveals the emotions and the everyday worries of Marine recruits. I gave this book to my older brother, who couldn't put it down. He laughed and shared different stories from the book with me. It was a great way to introduce him to boot camp. I haven't heard of any other book written during basic training by the recruit who lived it. This book blazes a path where 'Ears Open, Eyeballs Click' could not.
