**A prequel to the multiple award-winning Devil DeVere series.**

A rebellious young nobleman's prank with the king's lion goes comically awry in this bawdy Georgian era romp.

Every devil has a beginning...
From the outset of young Lord DeVere's arrival at Westminster School, his scandalous family secrets set him apart from the other aristocratic scions as an "untouchable." Akin to a dark shadow following him, the ugly truth remained that his mother was indeed the biggest whore in England, and his presumed father was no less than a pox-ridden madman.

Likewise, Simon Singleton's poetic proclivities had instantly made him the bullies' mark, and even Edward Chambers' great size had served as little deterrent for the upper classmen's taunts when accompanied by adolescent awkwardness and a broad North Country drawl.

By the end of the first form, however, the three young outcasts had forged an iron-clad bond that would maintain them through nearly six years. DeVere's finely honed shell of arrogance, Ned's increasing brawn, and Sin's rapier wit gave birth to an unholy triumvirate that would come to wreak perpetual and unchallenged havoc upon Westminster School…

A Note from the Author:
When I first conceived A WILD NIGHT'S BRIDE, a Georgian set, Hangover-inspired romantic comedy, I had no idea that one devilish secondary character would spawn an entire series, but Ludovic, Viscount DeVere, proved to be a dream come true. This larger than life character has captured the hearts of so many fans who have begged for more DeVere. So without further ado…. Here is how it all began….

Not a romance story.

I really enjoyed reading this short story, it was a nice break from the romance, erotica and paranormal books I usually read. I found this book entertaining and laughed out loud funny!

This was just a quickie story of the beginning of a great MISadventure of 3 different BFFs, DeVere, Sin & Ned, and their getting EVEN at the evil schoolmaster & Master of the Birch, Trasker! Now being creative & hilarious what better why to get even than kidnapping a BEAR! That's right people a BEAR! They go to the London to borrow a bear from the King, but there was no bear, so the LION will have to do. So along the way they collect laudanum laced brandy, 2 guards £50 richer, a grumpy laudanum laced LION, a boy named Freddie (who isn't what he looks like), a shattered & destroyed chair & dorm room, 1 expelled lord, a trip to Paris, another great friend by the name of Fox & a great MISadventure! We also get to read about DeVere's pox ridden father & scandalous mom! Ms. Vane writes with such hilariousness that I have tears running down my face from laughing so hard! Her "PULL THE FIRE ALARM" scenes were missing, but I got the backstory of DeVere and all his debauchery, drinking, womanizing, carefree jolly life & the beginning of his committed uses. I give Ms. Vane a score of 4 fingers up & 8 toes for this beginning of the DeVere's series & its kooky, crazy, unique, unforgettable & hilarious MISadventure!

Ok so this story is actially a short story about a kid that gets in trouble with the king and is forced to go on a Grand Tour. While away he finds his astranged mother. There is no love. No romance. No passion. The plot and character development have potentual though. Please forgive any typ'os, my Nook is acting up.
