I had played the games before reading this and expected a manga-type book, but surprisingly, it was different. The book allows you to relate to Dante and sympathize with him, as he is actually quite sensitive and lonely, despite being very cocky and a skilled devil hunter. The relationships between him and the other characters were engaging and made Dante seem real, rather than a seemingly immortal half-breed demon. The book has a lot of action and some humor, as well. I definitely recommend it, whether you have played the games or not.

Devil May Cry the best book ever.This is my very first manga book ever read. DMC the novel shows more emphasis on Tony Redgrave's attitide. It also goes more into detail about Tony Redgraves adventurous battles and deadly encounters never before seen in DMC the video game. It shows who Tony Redgrave is and Where he came from
