** THIS BOOK MAY CONTAIN TRIGGERS FOR SOME **

Sometimes love can be found in the most unlikely of places.

“It gives me strength to have somebody to fight for; I can never fight for myself, but, for others, I can kill.”
- Emilie Autumn

I should never have jumped that fence, and I most definitely should never have kissed her.

Living on the streets, I had to make some hard decisions to stay alive. I signed a contract with the devil, and because of that, I choose to live alone.

But after listening to my neighbors fight every night for years, it’s finally gotten to me. Now I’ve gone and done it - I’ve broken my only rule—never get involved.

I want to save the beautiful woman next door with the sad eyes from his abuse. I want to take her away from all of this, but what do I have to offer when my hands are stained with the sins I’ve committed?

How can I offer a broken woman peace and safety when those two things don’t exist in my world?

Meet the Author

Author of Paranormal, and Contemporary Romance. I rediscovered my love of reading after never really having the time with working full-time, and two small children, and in doing so I realised I didn't just want to read the books - I wanted to write them. So I put fingers to keyboard and wrote. Then wrote some more. And before you know it, here I am now. I decided that at thirty it was high time to stop living a 'what if' life and give my dreams a chance. Lost deep in thought one day as I walked the kids in their buggy, I realised that I didn't want to be an old lady who sat and reflected on her life thinking 'what if I had tried?' I wanted to be an old lady who reflected on her life and thought 'At least I didn't leave a stone unturned.'

This was a good story evan though it srarted out sad. I yhink this love story could continue with a more positive hsppy ending. Giving the heros circumstance this does have a happy ending. Worth the read.

Fun to read and a story of hope.

Not a great book but ok. Story felt repetitive and boring at times after Jane left Dylan. Cut out repetitive issues and maybe go into Malice's job or friends more. Feels unfinished in many ways.

Loved it.

A story that seems to come out of my own life experience. Max brings you into the story from the first page. It's Erie how close to home this hits.

good book, good story on both points of view from two messed up people.

It was a good story with two likeable main characters. I feel like this book was a good eye opener in regards to domestic violence and abuse. It also highlighted the struggles victims go through to get out of that type of relationship and then how they outcome the past. I do feel like the book flat-lined after Jane left with Malice, which was pretty early on, and there were some other events that were left open ended by the end.

I found this story compelling, fantastic with a great advice for all those that need support in abusive relations or otherwise. Good job Max can't wait to read more of your books. Only one observation too many writing mistakes maybe it would be good to proof read more than once?

I thought this book was just an ok read. This book was missing something i just cant put my finger on. The hot and steamy parts werent all that hot and steamy to me. And the actual story wasnt all that great. We didnt learn enough about malices past. And, unless i missed it, exactly what happened to his mother was never told either. A lot of things werent put to a close in this book. Needless to say im not reading any more books in this series.

I have just finished experiencing 'Devil you Know' Max Henry's first book in her new series "The Butcher Boys" & let me just say... I AM SPEECHLESS!! Writing this review isn't easy, my words aren't coming forth. I have been putting this series off my to read list for a while now, but thought now was the time to read it. In all honesty, I didn't want the "Banjaxed" series to be out done, because to me that series was AMAZING! I wont go into that to deeply. So what I expect from Max's story, after reading "Banjaxed" was what I got in 'Devil you Know'! Dark troubling subjects brought to light, writen so that you can feel the pain, the hurt, the need to fight just by reading the words. You get a glimps of a romance that is more life like than most other romance novels I have read before. You see that surviving & living for yourself, opening up & trusting again, does hurt, but also makes you become more than you ever where. I really hope this makes sense?? In true Max Henry fashion, she's written about this dark, distressing subject & molded it to her design. Sharing with the reader the struggles, the up's & down's, the self doubt... the cocoon the character/s wrap around themselves, just to get through their lives & what it takes to break free. Please NEVER stop writting Max, because I never want to stop reading your masterpieces. Bring on book 2 & the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed this book. First of all can I just say the cover of this book is SO FREAKIN HOT! WHEW! The suspense is intense but thats a huge part of what makes this story so great. At times I cried so hard at the thought of what Jane endured from that monster she was married to. I can't understand how some people can be so heartless and cruel. But I guess none of us truely knows what goes on behind closed doors. Domestic abuse is a big problem where I live. When Janes and Malice finally meet it's inevitable they would end up together. Two people with such strong empathy toward each other is bound to be pulled together. And their love of Rocco. Lol. Jane is meant to help Malice pull himself out of the dark that eats away at him and Malice is strong enough to protect Jane from her nightmares. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I wish there had been more to see where Jane and Malice go from here.
