Overview

The bestselling author of Devil’s Honor returns with a deliciously sinful novel about a good girl who goes bad—and the notorious Louisiana biker who can’t resist the lure of forbidden fruit.

Holly Chambless is tired of being the squeaky clean daughter of Lagrange’s holier-than-thou mayor. When her father is charged with corruption, she realizes that her whole life’s been a lie. Now’s her chance to do all the things she never dared, like scoring a job at a bar where reputations go to die, or reconnecting with the biker who sparked a secret hunger in her all those years ago. Holly isn’t a wide-eyed girl anymore—and this time she wants a taste of what has always been denied.

Killian “Uptown” Chenier has no time for stuck-up princesses. He likes fast bikes and wild sex. Sure, he remembers Holly. He sent her running with a wicked smile and a lesson about prying eyes. And sure, she’s grown up smoking-hot, with a body he’d like to personally desecrate. But Devil’s Keepers business is real and intense. Her daddy stole from the club, leaving his pretty blonde daughter a walking target. And when Uptown takes aim at what he wants, he never misses.

The Devil’s Keeper series by Megan Crane is a sexy, gritty edged motorcycle club series that is set in sultry, seedy Louisiana. Like any MC series, it’s got its fair share of violence and sex and there’s no mistaking that morals and ethics are generally of the less favorable variety. But loyalty to the club and to fellow members is a creed all live and die for, and betrayal of that loyalty can result in a fate worse than death. When the Mayor of Lagrange gets caught in some dirty dealings with the club, it comes as a shock to his squeaky clean daughter Holly Chambless. Always told to stay away from anything to do with the Devil’s Keepers, all bets are off now that her father has been exposed. Holly wants to know what she’s been missing, ever since catching Killian ‘Uptown’ Chenier with his pants down, literally, in the church graveyard when she was sixteen. Now she's twenty two, and figures her best bet to find out what all the fuss is about is to get a bartending job at the biker club Dumb Gators, where her old school friend Katelyn works. What she doesn’t realize is that her daddy’s debts have come due, and if Killian has his way, she’ll be the one paying. Only, Killian doesn’t bank on the chemistry between them turning into something more. I have to give it to Holly for holding strong and true in this story. She’s lived a sheltered life, rumors of the MC club and its dealing never getting more than a blip on her radar until she finds that her father, a man she idolized, has feet of clay after all. In fact, the more she discovers, the worse it gets. It’s a rough and rude awakening for her, finding out secrets about her parents that she never expected. Killian finds himself becoming very possessive of Holly in a very short time, but also comes to admire and respect her. They have a slow burn romance, not really getting into the steamy scenes until later in the story but it’s worth the wait. I really liked the two of them together and how Holly brings out the best in Killian. It’s a pretty hard edged story, not overly suspenseful but raw and with enough tension to keep you turning the pages. Something is going on with the club, something bad involving its president. It was alluded to in the first story, Devil’s Honor, and continues to be part of the story arc of the series. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out! I’m looking forward to reading more about the Devil’s Keepers.

4.5stars Devils Mark the second book from the series. I liked this one sooo much better. The plot was more interesting, the characters for me more likable. I loved Holly her innocent but smart way of thinking. I liked her personality a lot. Uptown was also likable I loved how he seduced and protected Holly. Their love game is intense long but explosive. I loved that we see their life a couple years later. Good MC read I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

Opposites do attract. Who would have thought that dirty biker and resident good looking bad boy, Uptown, would have any kind of draw to the mayor’s beautiful, virginal daughter, Holly?! Holly just came back to town after graduating college to the only home and life she had ever known. She was the upstanding and innocent daughter of Mayor Benny and didn’t have of a clue as to what was actually happening not only in her hometown but in her own home as well. Benny betrayed the Devil’s Keepers MC and he was about to pay for double-crossing the MC. Uptown was the man for the job as to make Benny pay for his missteps. What better way to do this than by taking Holly for a little walk on the wild side and getting her biker dirty! Holly knew all about Uptown since she had spied him getting down and dirty with some girl in a cemetery a few years ago and then dreaming about Uptown taking her. Holly may be an innocent girl and a virgin but she knew that Uptown would be the man she wanted to lose everything to. Because of his upbringing and all the dirt he knew on Benny from when he was a boy the MC became the perfect fit for him. Also because of this he knew that he was never going to get tied down to one girl and live the happily-ever-after life that he knew was all of bunch of sh*t. The only person he knew of that believed the fairy tale was Holly. What better way to make Benny pay for double-crossing the club and he was just the man for the job. But the club had other things happening within but there was no proof that club president, Digger was dirty. This was a fast, dirty, and sexy read that kept you guessing just where everything was going to turn. Would Uptown end up breaking that dream that Holly had of them and would Uptown take the father that Holly had always looked up to and followed all of his rules to a tee? This is the second book in this series that I have read and loved it just as much as the first and I can’t wait to see where Ms. Crane is going to take us with the next book in this series. These bikers are mean and hot as h*ll with their club possibly crumbling from the inside. Are they going to be able to save their club and their women as well? I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for a freely given honest review.

Great second book to the series Devil’s Mark continues where Devil’s Honor ended continuing the underlying story of secrets, and betrayal and crucial changes that will rock the foundation of Devil’s Keeper MC. Though this is a standalone, you might want to start with the first book for better understanding. This is Holly and Killian’s story. Killian “Uptown” Chenier has always had an eye for the mayor’s daughter. Though she’s the epitome of a well-bred southern belle, her innocence isn’t something Uptown does at all. He doesn’t do relationships either, not with the abundance of club groupies at his beck and call. But when Benny Chambless, the mayor of LaGrange, seemingly double crosses Devil’s Keeper MC, they don’t help him out of his situation. Uptown has history with Benny when he was powerless youth. An awful time in his life as he remembers Benny made his mother addicted to drugs and did unthinkable things to her. When Holly Chambless comes home from graduating college, her life’s in sudden upheaval. Her father is the dirty mayor charged with corruption and worse, Holly finds out she and her mother were only used as pawns in his obsession for power. The disgusting truth is, he never really cared for her or her mother. Holly decides her reputation can stand some sullying when she decides to work at the local biker bar, Dumb Gators. But Uptown can’t resist Holly. In light of all the grittiness that surrounds her, she’s always the well-mannered lady, funny and upbeat. Uptown doesn’t mind making her a bit dirty, and he finds he can lose himself in a woman like her. The story has plenty of sizzle and chemistry between Holly and Uptown. What started out as revenge on the mayor, ended up with Holly wanting her seduction with Uptown. I very much liked the resolution towards the ending for Benny Chambless, I think both Holly and Uptown got their revenge for the awful things Benny did to them. Here’s hoping the third book will have some answers for the Devil’s Keeper MC. I was given a copy from The Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley, and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Holly and Uptown had an encounter in a cemetery when she was 16 that left a lasting impression on both of them. She was scared off by him but often wondered what would have happened if she stayed instead of ran. Uptown is stunned when Holly enters the local slum bar where the MC hangs out and even more stunned when she requests a job. Her father, the mayor, has been indicted on criminal charges and the whole town knows just how corrupt he really is now. Uptown is intrigued by Holly but fights it at every turn. He does not concede that she might just be more than revenge, even when the evidence is pretty damning that he has real feelings for her. Holly's life is currently in a tail spin and she doesn't quite know what to make of all the new revelations that keep coming at her. Things she thought she knew turned out to be a lie and people who were supposedly her friends no longer treat her very well. She does stumble quite a bit in this book and was kind of clueless at times to the point that I didn't like her very much at times. She did not have a backbone at points and that was disappointing. Uptown did use some of that to his advantage and I was left wondering how she was able to just let some of the things he said and did go. She claimed to be irate and disappointed with her father, but then just clammed up when he would go off on her. Didn't seem like the makings of a very good ole lady. Her ability to smile through anything and everything did smack of southern geniality but got to be grating at times. I would have like a bit more backbone from her and less going with the flow. Overall a good read and not a bad way to spend a few hours. It was my pleasure to receive an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting this book down. This is the first book from Megan Crane that I have read but I can’t wait to read more. The steam in this book is hot! I also loved the lifetime decisions that need to be made in the book. Holly Chambless is the most popular girl in town and everyone loves her. She is also the mayor’s daughter. Holly finds out her Dad is corrupt and her whole life has been a lie she decides to change where her life was headed. So, she goes to the one place she should never go. She goes and get a job in a bar where the “Bad girls” work. It is owned by a Biker club. She wants to taste what she has secretly wanted. Killian “Uptown” Chenier is one of the most wanted bikers. He is also an enforcer for the club. He knows Holly and he remembers sending her running away one summer when she was young. Now she’s all grown up and hotter than she should be allowed. He wants her body to personally desecrate. Her dad stole from the club which makes her a target. But Devil’s Keepers have a hard life and she is so soft. He also has a long standing personal grudge with her daddy. Now is the perfect time to take back want he wants and hurt her daddy. As these two life’s start to mix it is hotter than a summer day in the south when they are together. Can they survive each other? "ARC provided by NetGallery and the Publisher, but that has not influenced my review".

Devil’s Mark by Megan Crane Devil’s Keepers #2 Wow! The momentum begun in book one of this series was maintained throughout book two and left me hungering for book three. Can’t wait to find out who will have their story told next. Holly Chambless has always been a “good girl” doing her best to live up to the expectations of her demanding father. When her father, the mayor, is picked up by the police for a number of felonies she is bent on making changes in her life as a wee bit of rebellion. So one evening she stops by a notorious biker bar to begin her makeover not realizing just where that first step will ultimately lead her. Killian “Uptown” Chenier, member of the Devil’s Keeper MC, finds himself drawn to Holly for a number of reasons but the main one is to get revenge against her father. Little does he realize that his first encounter with Holly in Dumb Gator bar will change his life forever. I loved the characters, the story and the way this book ended. The dialogue, unfolding backstories and surprises that cropped up were well plotted and appeared at just the right moment. Holly and Uptown were so well matched and their love story so delicious that I could not put this book down once I began reading. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House publishing Group – Loveswept for the copy of this book. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

Thank you so much Netgalley for this ARC! After I finished Devil's Honor, I was hooked and hoping for Uptown/Killian's story. This your typical good girl falls for bad boy story and it does not disappoint. The parts I loved.....the back and forth between the H and h; Uptown's filthy mouth; Uptown's interaction with his brothers: the epilogue. The parts I was not so fond of......the constant "head talk" each character had going on.....esp with Holly; her inability to see what was happening in her own home; there was not much going on in the first 60% of the book; the action was all at the 80% mark.....and it did feel rushed. I also felt the author repeated herself too much in regards to Uptown's "beauty" and Holly's lack of cup size. This was repeated over and over. I know there is an overall club conflict that will be told in the series but I felt too little was explained/given to the reader. Overall, I enjoyed the book immensely.....the interaction between Uptown and Holly made the story. Hoping t'Roscoe's story is coming......I love the Edge series but the Devil's series may be my favorite now.

Megan Crane has continued to entice me with her gritty, no holds barred characters and the intensity only a bad boy romance can ultimately provide. My compulsive attraction to these stories is not only the forbidden bad boy, but the easy ebb and flow of the author’s writing style, her gutsy world building and the edgy rawness of the genre and the complexity of the cast. I’m a huge fan of this author who is definitely on my ‘MUST READ’ list.

This is the second in the MC series by Megan Crane. Still a lot of description and not enough dialogue for my taste. But.. enjoyed being back with the Devil's Keepers MC Club and the politics that unfold. Mayor's daughter Holly deals with the disgrace of her father and personal choices involving biker "Uptown". Look forward to finding out what is behind the club's President Digger and his mysterious disappearances. ARc copy received from Random House via NetGalley.

Loved! Wow, another wild read and a worthy follow up to the Devil's Honor. This is a very sexy novel where the Devil's Keepers motorcycle club allow their town mayor to get arrested for theft and other assorted crimes. As part of their payback, Uptown sets his sites on the mayor's virginal daughter. What could be a better payback than a dirty outlaw biker to soil her? Uptown and Holly have a bit of a history though, and Uptown extends his protection to her before she even understands what that means. Then he provides eduction in the areas not covered by her college degree. While the above is occurring, there is a rift in the MC that is percolating in the background. This adds an added edge to an already edgy novel. This book is not for the faint of heart, because this MC likes their sex frequent and raunchy. Fans of the genre will love this book. While it is part of a series, this is a stand alone novel.

Devil’s Mark is the second book in The Devil’s Keepers series by Megan Crane. The Devil’s Keepers are a motorcycle club that rules the town of Lagrange in the outback country of Louisiana. Surrounded by swamps and bayous, you are introduced to the members of this club and their code. Ms. Crane is an outstanding writer painting vivid pictures of the events happening on the page. She knows how to bring out the heat as well as the down and dirty sex in her outstanding writing. Holly is Mayor Benny Chambless’ daughter and she recently returned to Lagrange after graduating college. She is tired of being the good girl, especially after her dad is charged with corruption. Holly takes the chance to do all the things she never dared before after reconnecting with the bad boy biker of her dreams. Killian “Uptown” Chenier found a family when he joined the Devil’s Keepers away from his druggie mother. He enjoys the biker life, especially the wild sex. That is until he sets his sights on Holly and no other woman attracts his interest. This was an intense, entertaining story with well written, complex and authentic characters. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. Ms Crane takes the reader deep into the bayou country where one could feel the heat and humidity that surrounded the swamps as they read this hot and sexy story. Her characters are real, do not apologize for their behavior and are led by their animal instincts. I highly recommend this book to other readers, especially those looking for a hot and dirty read in the motorcycle genre. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the second book in the series and boy what a hot read that I pretty much devoured in record time. I was super excited when I got the book through NetGalley in exchange for a review, which I am as always happy to provide, especially when I love it. It is not necessary for you to have read the first book in order to enjoy this one, it has everything you would want in a good romance, hot biker guy and sweet yet sassy girl, lots of sexual tension and a bit of action. The only bit of negative comment I would have is that it had a lot of inner dialog, almost a bit too much, but otherwise I can't wait for the next installment, hope that there will be many more to come.

Devil's Mark by Megan Crane is Book 2 of The Devil's Keepers Series. I am a first time reader of Ms. Crane’s and I gotta say I loved this story. Devil’s Mark is a fine combination of world, characters, chemistry and storyline that will have you turning those pages until the very end. I have found myself a new go-to author right here...nicely done Ms. Crane. An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.

"Second thoughts are lies." I'm really enjoying the Devil's Keepers MC Series. Megan Crane writes a good alpha dirty-talking badass biker and I keep coming back for more. This series takes place in Lagrange, where it's hot and sweaty, full of swamps, gators and insects. I find myself very intrigued by the location and tidbits of information I glean from the story. I met Uptown in a previous book, and I was excited to get to know him. I already knew that he had a devilish smile and a long line of women hoping for some time with him. Having grown up in the area, all the locals knew he was a bad-boy. He was unapologetic about his lifestyle and his disregard for the law. He took what he wanted, when he wanted it. Life was good, except for one thing. A niggling doubt he had about some things happening with the club. This is not something new, I got a taste of the same unrest in the previous book and have been anxious to peel back the layers and see what's hiding beneath the surface. I'm carefully reading, trying to see between the lines, waiting for the villains to reveal themselves... Holly is a good-girl. She's the Mayor's daughter and she's been taught from an early age to maintain her reputation and keep it above reproach. She follows the rules and tries to make her Daddy proud. When he is charged with corruption, he took a long fall from the pedestal she had placed him on. As she discovers more and more that everything she believed about him and herself were lies, she takes a long look at her life and decides to make some changes. Since it's too late to preserve her flawless reputation, she might as well enjoy herself, right? Why not take a walk on the wild side and follow her friend's suggestions to get a job at the local biker bar? Sounds like a good plan, right? Maybe she'll even get to see that sexy biker that she hasn't been able to stop thinking about since she was 16 yrs. old... Uptown would never admit it, but he's been thinking about Holly too. Their chance encounter years ago was memorable to both of them. But he knows she's too good for him. She's probably just curious. One of the many good girls tempted to try out a bad boy and see if they are as good as everyone says. And trust me, he'd have no problem getting her dirty. But he's got club business to deal with. He doesn't have time to be babysitting a princess. But when they see each other again, and the sparks fly again, he seems to find time. The thought of anyone else touching her seems to be a problem, one that's he's never had before. Hmmm... I'm really looking forward to more in this series. After the recent revelations, I know that there will be much more suspense and surprises in the upcoming installments. I've got a few more bikers in mind that I'd like to spend some quality time with. And then there's that sassy stripper that I met in the first book that needs to put her mark on one of the DKMC brothers, if she hasn't already. The line forms here...

Holly is the daughter of the corrupt mayor. She is a virgin and the princess of Lagrange. When her father is arrested, she goes to work at Dumb Gator's, a biker bar. Uptown is a member of the Devil's Keepers Motorcycle Club. He wants revenge against the mayor and what better way than to dirty his daughter. Uptown is sexual, gorgeous, and has known Holly for years. He doesn't expect the beautiful woman she is inside and out. Holly is finding out what kind of man her father really is and how many lives he destroyed, she is falling in love with Uptown. Uptown is realizing how different Holly is and how much he wants her. Great story. Sexy biker. Beautiful woman. Secrets. And corruption in the city and the club. Some explicit sex scenes. Bad boy falls for good girl. *VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED THIS FROM NETGALLEY *

I really enjoyed this one even more than the first one in this series. Holly Chambless is back in town after graduation and even though she has always been the "princess" of the town, as the daughter of the mayor who is now embroiled in scandal and on the outs, she is looking for a change. She decides to take a job at the local MC Bar and has to get past Killian “Uptown” Chenier first. They have a past and sparks continue to ignite whenever they are close and he puts her under his protection. How long can he keep his hands off her? How long will she let him? There is still a lot going on in the MC and a back story that needs to be fleshed out. I recommend this one! **Received a copy of this ARC from the publisher via NetGalley**

If you're looking for a new motorcycle club bad boy, this is a fun series to try out! This one didn't quite measure up to the first in the series, because Greeley & Merritt were a really hard act to follow. I did enjoy Killian and Holly, I just didn't fall quite as in love as the first time. Still loved reading the story and can't wait for the next in the series! Mayor's daughter, Holly Chambless is back home from college and tired of being Daddy's good girl ... especially since he's just been arrested for corruption after all these years of preaching what's right and wrong to her! She's going to go after what she wants and what better place to start than at the bar hangout of the local bad boys?? Killian "Uptown" Chenier loves his life as a member of the Devil's Keepers Motorcyle Club! What more could he want out of life than a family of brother's, fast bikes and endless hot sex for the taking? When he runs across the reigning princess of Lagrange in his hangout, he steps forward to teach her a lesson of where good girls don't want to hang out in town. They have a past connection, and he would like nothing more than to get his revenge on her disgusting father than by defiling his baby girl!

Devil’s Mark is a well-written, sexy and exciting book, and its unpredictable story will take you places you might never go. If you’d told me six months ago that I would read motorcycle club romances, I would have called you a lunatic. I assumed these stories would not be relatable and – for lack of a better word – icky. I decided to give these bikers and their “old ladies” a chance and discovered I enjoyed them. Motorcycle Club romances are dirty, crude, dark and far outside most reader’s reality but then so is marrying a professional football player or a shape shifter. I was eager to read the next book in The Devil’s Keepers series – Devil’s Mark – and according to my research (!) from watching Sons of Anarchy, it is a realistic depiction of motorcycle clubs, but the story is a lighter representation of the true lifestyle. Either book in the series is a good first dip into of this crazy world, so you do not need to follow the series order. Devil’s Mark has a few murders, illegal business ventures, explicit sex and lots of foul language, but it has more than just motorcycle club shtick. The story explores the fierce loyalty of men who choose to belong to a brotherhood they consider their family and a child’s discovery that her own family isn’t perfect. At the heart of all the violence and curse words, this is a romance about two opposites who find common ground through love in a gruffer, rougher way. If you’re curious about biker romances, this is a great place to indulge yourself. Devil’s Mark is a well-written and exciting book, and its unpredictable story will take you places you might never go – unless you join an outlaw motorcycle club. Definitely liked this one. Holly Chambless has always lived the life of a princess. Daughter of the mayor and the town good girl. Now her life has been turned up side down with her father embroiled in scandal and disgrace her perfect life is no longer so perfect. Tired of the miss perfect title Holly decides to take a job as a bartender in the local MC's bar. Is she really ready for the down and dirty lifestyle of the bikers and specifically Killian “Uptown” Chenier. Uptown is definitely dirty and he's willing to help dirty up little Miss Holly any time she wants!! I definitely recommend this one.

Gillian/Uptown was a member of the Devil’s Mark MC. This MC pretty much owned everything in the small town of Lagrange. Butler thought Holly was slumming without her father’s protection when she came into Dumb Gator. Holly was a squeaky clean sorority girl whose father-Benny- was the mayor. Tick and Butler were Uptown’s brothers from the MC and they were also full patch members just like Uptown. Benny had crossed the MC and he was going to have to pay and losing his daughter to the club would be unexpected and painful for Benny. While the M C club had been paying Benny and his lawyer to keep the brothers out of jail instead of longer sentences in jail. Benny acted like he owned the world. The MC believed a man kept his word or paid for lies in blood . Holly told Uptown she was at the bar to get a job her friend had told her about. Kaitlyn used to be Hollys best friend since they had shared a coloring book in kindergarten but now Kaitlyn affiliated herself with the MC with a big tattoo across her chest. Uptown spoke up for Holly and while she was at the job she was his responsibility, Holly was also to let it be known she was under Uptown’s protection. Digger was the president of the Devil’s Mark but something wasn’t right. Digger had increasingly random and unexplained absences lately and his son- Whale seemed to careen around lately and Whale was a punk. Uptown’s life had been full of violence when he was growing up. The day Uptown joined the MC became his day of salvation. There were rumors Digger could be betraying the club and that made Uptown sick as for a long time Digger was the only father figure Uptown had ever known. The MC major rivals were the two faced Black Dogs MC. Holly had seen Uptown having sex in the church cemetery when she was sixteen she had never forgotten him and often had hot dreams about him. Holly was now twenty two two a college graduate and still a virgin. When Digger called a meeting Uptown said he would use Holly to pay Benny back as a biker would be her downfall. I loved this story it was an easy read. The plot was great I loved the way Uptown acted so big and bad but he was different with Holly more so then he had ever been with anyone else even while taking her virginity. It was just an all around great read. The only complaint I can even come up with is what happened to the MC and did Uptown and others form a new MC but probably another story and I hope to read it. I loved the characters especially Holly and Uptown of course. I loved the ins and outs of this story. I highly recommend.
